DON’T BE AFRAID, GOD HAS HEARD YOUR PRAYER

Fear drains both physical and spiritual strength; it kills hope and destroys faith; it hinders every kind of progress and stops all forms of aspirations; it corrupts good mental reasoning and takes away understanding of even things that are simple; it takes away the joy of a continuous living with a higher expectation; it opens the door for the devil to dominate, to take total control, and it ends you up in its squalor of regrets, suspicion, withdrawal, shame, suicidal thoughts and actions, unfruitfulness, and physically, spiritually and mentally weakness; it destroys relationships.

Fear is a prison of good ideas; a prison of good expectations, and a prison where the devil is in control twenty-four seven, and God do not want you to remain in that prison again, He does not want you to be without hope, without a sound mind, and without a proper understanding of what He is doing, or what He is about to do in and through you. You have spent enough time in your fears and doubts; you have spent enough time wondering about what will be and what has not been; you have spent enough time asking yourself and others questions, you have gone around seeking answers to those questions, and you have spent enough time waiting for the answers.

Zachariah and his wife Elizabeth were in that same questionable situation after many years of marriage; they asked what went wrong in their lives, what went wrong in their marriage after waiting many years for a child; they asked what they had missed in trusting God, what sin they had committed collectively or individually, and what they need to do next. The longer they waited the more fearful and uncertain they became, and the more they lost hope in their prayer for a child, but one thing was quite certain, nothings was able to take them away from serving the Lord and worshiping Him alone. And in one of such times of service and worship in the house of the Almighty, God sent His angel to speak to Zachariah about a bout that was soon to come.

The message delivered by the angel was, ‘don’t be afraid, God has heard your prayer’ and the amazing miraculous result was ‘soon afterward his wife, Elizabeth, became pregnant.’ The message from the angel on that faithful day confirmed that age is no barrier to what God will do for you, through you, and with you as you hold on to Him in faith, in prayers and in service. God will overcome your weaknesses. Zachariah did not allow his fears to stop him from serving God and from being in the house of the Lord that say. The angel met him in the right place, at the right time and with the right and expected message. The God that heard your prayers will soon confirm the actions He had taken. Don’t give up your expectations for any reason; your God is still on the throne doing miraculous wonders, confirming dreams and visions, fulfilling given promises and desires, and strengthening the weak for exploits in His kingdom.

“Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God’s eyes. They had no children because Elizabeth was unable to conceive, and they were both very old. One day Zechariah was serving God in the Temple, for his order was on duty that week. While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. But the angel said, don’t be afraid, Zechariah, God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. Zechariah said to the angel, how can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years. Then the angel said, I am Gabriel, I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news. Soon afterward his wife, Elizabeth, became pregnant and went into seclusion for five months. How kind the Lord is, she exclaimed. He has taken away my disgrace of having no children.” Luke 1:6-25.
