"DEAR LORD, KEEP ME STANDING"

Post date: Feb 21, 2017 12:29:00 AM

I pray that the things that keep you happy, relevant, useful, joyfully, and excited in this life and in Christ Jesus will never be taken away through a mistake, human manipulations, devil’s hidden plans and craftiness. I ask the Almighty Father to preserve and keep your going out and coming in from this day forward. He will keep the devil from destroying you, your words, work, dreams, family, and purpose. I ask He will give you increased joy in your heart and dwelling, business, and family. God will deliver you from the powers of darkness and the wickedness that intends to make you a failure and cause you to fall; He will preserve you and your concerns; His promised glory in your life will be fulfilled. In all things, God truly desires your success. Did you know that Satan had plans to make you fall even as you still confess Christ daily? He has no plans to take you out of the church but to keep you there and make your life miserable through unplanned disruptions of your plans, your marriage, your business and your family; but God is with you.

One of the sweetest things that everyone is craving for in life and is worth all the celebrations is the God-given grace and ability to succeed in the things we do irrespective of its magnitude, time and place and the forces standing to hinder. Everyone hates being a failure and no one desires to fail and fall intentionally. While you keep your eyes on success, the bible desires you should be very careful not to slip into things that are not necessary in order to prevent failure and falling. While failure may not be your words, you should be careful of what and where you fix your eyes and thoughts, and your actions daily because those are the breeding places where failure, falling and success gradually grows. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you but is grudging the cost.” Matthew 6:21, Proverbs 23:7

While you reject all forms of failure and its associated shame, you should be careful to avoid the hidden and open traps that can make you fail and fall while pursuing success. We are thankful to our Father who is able and willing to keep us from falling and failure and from the pride of any form of success while sustaining our success and progress at the same time. Remember that ignorance and pride are two front runners to falling and failure. The scripture said: “The highway of the upright turns away and departs from evil; he who guards his way protects his life. Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud, haughty, and arrogant. He who pays attention to the word of God will find good, and blessed, happy, prosperous, to be admired is he who trusts confidently in the Lord. The wise in heart will be called understanding, and sweet speech increases persuasiveness and learning in both speaker and listener. Understanding spiritual insight is a refreshing and boundless wellspring of life to those who have it, but to give instruction and correction to fools is foolishness. The heart of the wise instructs his mouth in wisdom and adds persuasiveness to his lips.” Proverbs 16:17-23

Being wise and careful is necessary in pursuing success, but being able to keep ourselves from falling is where we struggle and stumble every day, every time and everywhere. “Be well balanced, be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring in fierce hunger, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Acquiring and sustaining wisdom is to seek God every day, every time and everywhere. The scripture gives the assurance that while the devil wants you to fall, God wants you to keep standing despite all the temptations and God is able and willing to keep you from falling and to keep you on track against those temptations seeking your failure. Except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain, because He wants you to succeed, He will keep you; He is willing and able to keep and do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ever ask at all times.
