THESE THINGS ARE TEMPORAL

“This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says, Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in my name. I have not sent them, says the Lord. This is what the Lord says: You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you, says the Lord. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” Jeremiah 29:8-14.

I pray God to open your eyes to see, to give you wisdom and understanding of these words; those are wonderful words that should be trusted by all Christians. I am sure each and every one of God’s plans for all Christians will be completely fulfilled; God will not leave out any and He will not run out time. The intent today is to magnify these promises of God in your heart and to raise your hope far beyond your present day adversity that God is still alive and that His words are still active and His plans are still intact.

Whatever is happening in your life today, the lord wants you to note that you are far much more than the adversities, your value is far greater, they do not depend on what you see now but on what God had said. Do not give up your life expectations in Christians, He knows the things that are afflicting you and He wants you to know that they are just temporal. Despite what you are seeing, what you are going through, what your thoughts and plans are, your God has better plans, better things for you, better location for your next blessing, better position to place you, and He will definitely engage you successfully in them all.

Whatever adversity you are going through today are temporal in the sight of God; the fact that you have been experiencing them for years does not mean they have come to stay with you forever. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth thought they would never overcome barrenness in their lives, but thanks be to God, He proved that though they did experienced it, He was able to reverse it for them and He did. By God’s actions in their lives, the scripture confirmed that it was just a temporal thing that had happened to them.

Hunger and lack are also temporal things; God is capable to feed and to provide the entire living human race by His great power. I am praying that no family reading this devotional will remain physically hungry again. There is nothing that God cannot do for His own; He can and will open the windows heaven again and again for you. This is what He before in time of famine and great hunger: “Elisha replied, Listen to this message from the Lord. This is what the Lord says; by this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria, five quarts of choice flour will cost only one piece of silver, and ten quarts of barley grain will cost only one piece of silver. The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven. But Elisha replied, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it.” 2 Kings 7:1-2

Weakness, sickness, hatred, poverty, loneliness, and nakedness, unfulfilled desires are temporal. “For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18. For prayers, Click here
