Before David was anointed by Samuel according to God’s will and plans for his life, David knew Saul as the king of Israel and had nothing to do with him personally or the throne. But after he was anointed, David realized God wants him somewhere else doing something else rather than being in the forest tending animal. He realized that God wants him in the palace as King doing His bidding then the challenge of his life begins. Before that day of his anointing, David knew that the Philistines had been in several battles with the children of Israel; he knew his two elder brothers were involved in the battle with other able, braved, and armed male children of Israel fighting them, but he was not engaged by the military so he had nothing to do fighting but just wishing and praying Israel will have the victory, but things changed after he was anointed, he has to be challenged and he has to be involved.

True salvation, God’s call, commission, mission, and God’s anointing in your life will take you to places you never thought you will ever be; it will open up the road for many opportunities with lots of challenges from foes, friends, Satan himself, and his agents; it will open you up for severe personal challenges, confrontations from every side, and sometimes with lots of pains; it will enable you to realize you have a responsibility bigger than just you, and above all, it will teach you to be humble, hopeful, and dependable on God. It will reveal to you that you will not in any way succeed without God, despite your skills and education, and wealth; it will teach you that without God’s grace, without His presence, and without His power working in, working for, and working through you, you will never succeed because you will encounter stronger, armed, and well prepared contenders. But despite the strength, the preparedness, and the fierce power of the competitors, God’s mission for your life will not be taken away, God will make a way for you by the power of His grace and commission on your life. Like David, you were saved, anointed, called, and commissioned for something godly and powerful and you will succeed.

The uprising of the evil ones against you is not a sign that God had departed from you, or from the scene where you are, or has changed His mind concerning His promises. It is not a sign that God is no more interested in you or in the mission He had called you for. God is still interested in the mission; He is still interested in you and is committed to your success. After David’s anointing, he was confronted by Goliath and succeeded; he was confronted personally by Saul and succeeded, and thereafter, he was confronted by the armies of Saul and he succeeded against them. David said this after encountering all these things, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me --.” Psalm 23:4. When God is with you, things will happen against you but you will overcome and succeed; people will rise to take you down and frustrate and confused and humiliate you but you will overcome their plans and challenges and you will succeed. God will place you where He had promised and He will enable you to do what He saved, had called, and had anointed you for. I want you to know that He that keeps us will neither slumber nor fail. We would not stand a moment if our keeper were to sleep; we need Him by day and by night; not a single step can be safely taken except under His guardian. God is the leader, the convoy, and the bodyguard of all His saints. When dangers arise, we are safe, because the one who preserves us is awake, He will not permit us to be taken or destroyed. He is never fatigued or exhausted; His watchful eyes are always open, His mercies never end. Despite the challenges by evil competitors, frustrations, delays, and the shame you have suffered, God is still with you. He is not taking giving up; He will take you through, He will keep you safe, He will fight for you; He will defend you, He will give you victory because of His mission and commission on your life. “Your present suffering is nothing compared with the glory that will be revealed in you.” Romans 8:18.
