Before we were all granted salvation through grace, we were all under the bondage of sin and the absolute control of Satan and were doomed for destruction whether we actually indulge in any form of sin or not. Under Satan’s control are all imaginable and unimaginable evils, wickedness, fear, hate, abuse, falsehood, lack of trust, unknown and unseen spell that keeps us moving only in this circle of evil, from one form of bondage to another throughout life. But while we were still under Satan’s bondage, God called us out through grace and saved us by our individual acceptance of Christ Jesus as our Lord. Christ in turn brought us into a new family called “believers” with grater grace, joy and hope thereafter. He washed all our past away through the power of His blood and gave us His word to keep us renewed every day. Despite your pains and sadness, the day of your salvation was a day of joy in heaven, a day that God in His mercy and determination endued you with gifts to ensure you succeed on earth, to ensure you break out completely from your past and begin forging ahead, achieving new goals, having new desires, dreaming new dreams, aspiring for the very best in life and standing up for Him every day and everywhere. We cannot afford to let go that change we had that day. “Thus, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one [especially] wicked person who repents (changes his mind, abhorring his errors and misdeeds, and determines to enter upon a better course of life) than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance.” Luke 15:7

While Timothy was having some contrary thoughts about his life and ministry, Apostle Paul called him aside and reminded him on two occasions to remember the gift of God upon his life and to use them judiciously. “I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also. That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:5-7

God gave you important gifts to help you become what He wants you to be. You might be thinking you are always vulnerable to attack, misfortune and satanic manipulations every day. You may be thinking that you have not had a single respite for a long time now from fear, disappointments and failures. But the contrary is true for you, Christ had set you free . You have been holding up the spirit of fear against yourself and you have to let that go right now. Stop living in fear even in the attack of the devil, stir up the gift in you and use them rightly.

From the Almighty God and right inside of you lie the gift of God’s power, not that of satanic fear, the gift of God’s love, not satanic hate, the gift of a calmed mind even in the mist of trouble and uncertainty, the gift of self-discipline even when others are urging you to change and follow their ways and the gift of self-control. Please put to use these gifts through faith that dwells in your heart. They were given to you for a purpose and you have to use them to achieve that purpose. You were given power and authorized to use them to have your victory. You were given the spirit of love and authorized to use it. You were given the spirit of self-discipline, calmness, and self-control to declare your godly stand on issues according to word of God.

Beloved of Christ Jesus, stand up and fearlessly stir up the gift that is in you, that which was given to you freely to use and to be blessed. Satan will only attempt to overrule you, but will never succeed because you were authorized to use them by Christ Jesus. For prayer Click here
