SOMETIMES -------- (3)

Sometimes the tide of life turns against us even in our innocence and sometimes it stands for and supports our curses, but in whatever way it stands or turns, our the Almighty God never wavers in His love for us; never changes His plans for His children and He will never stand on the side of the enemies of our soul – Satan no matter the situation we face in living the life He approves through His words and through His commandments. Sometimes things happen that makes us to think otherwise about ourselves, about our values, about our services, about our beliefs, and about our missions; sometimes we think we have missed it, we have not prayed enough, we have not fasted enough or worshiped enough, but despite all the thoughts and imaginations, it is good to remember that God had not called us to live in or continue in shame neither did He save us to and allow us to remain in the tortures of the pains of afflictions.

Sometimes our brooks become dry as the brook that sustained and supported Elijah during the three and half years of famine in Israel, 1 Kings 17:7; sometimes our expected harvest become too small and often insufficient to meet expectations; sometimes the former and latter rain just ceased with no sign of coming soon or are withheld indefinitely; sometimes there is no vine in the shelf, no food on the table, no miracle to celebrated, no hope to rejoice for tomorrow, no dream for direction or breakthrough, no desire to step out or continue, and no meaning to continue living; sometimes hunger is so bitter and painful and no one is there willing to help. Sometimes we don’t feel the presence of God even though He is with us and we are in the church praying, even when He is working in us, and working through us; sometimes we see the sun, the stars, and the moon but completely forget they are the works of our God on display showing us the beauty and power of His creation, His covenanted words, and His commands that stands forever. But despite what the sometimes maybe, God is still at work in the lives of all those who trust in Him, who believe, follow, depend on Jesus Christ, and rely on His words.

When we feel the effects of sometimes and somethings, God says. “Listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name, you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up, the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west. I will say to the north and south, bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth. Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them. Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf. Gather the nations together, assemble the peoples of the world, which of their idols has ever foretold such things? Which can predict what will happen tomorrow? Where are the witnesses of such predictions? Who can verify that they spoke the truth? But you are my witnesses, O Israel says the Lord. You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God, there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes I am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God, says the Lord. From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:1-13. God will do what He had said. Keep your faith in Him and always trust in His ability. For prayers, Click here
