IN TIME OF LONELINESS, HELP CAME

Loneliness is never desired, nor wished for anyone even when our enemies want us to be lonely and remain in loneliness. No one likes being alone for too long or having the feeling of loneliness for a long period of time or days talk-less of being lonely for years without hope for a companion and a desire for an everlasting and total change. Every one of us desires love; everyone desires to be with loving people around them; everyone desires an association and the feeling a company of loving people. We all need people around us at all times, in all situations despite our experiences in life and profession. We need someone to talk with; we need someone to confide in; someone to feel our joy and celebrate with us; someone to share our pains when hurt; someone to make our burden lighter and easier, and we need someone to listen to our words. God said to Abraham in the book of Genesis ‘it is not good for man to be alone’.

The feeling of loneliness often make us think poorly of ourselves despite our successes, dream, and achievements in life; it do make us look bad with ourselves despite the efforts we make each day to become better individuals; oftentimes loneliness makes us condemn ourselves by destroying our testimonies before God and men; it do weaken our massages, our ineffective and destroy our boldness. But even in the feelings of loneliness, God’s word is still effective, His promises are still possible, His love is not taken away, and His presence is not eliminated from us. I want you to know that just as it was for Adam on that faithful day in the garden with loneliness, it is also with you today in your loneliness; as God saw him so is He seeing you; as He felt for Him, so is He feeling for you; as He decided for him and made provision for him, so is He deciding for you and making provisions for you, and as He fulfilled His words and desire for Adam that day, so will He fulfill His promise for you today. You will overcome this loneliness.

God has a better desire and a good word for our loneliness as He had for Adam in the garden. We know that Adam was an intelligent man, committed to doing what God wanted him to do and actively obeying God in caring for everything God brought under his care. Unknown to Adam in that garden, God was watching and noting his mood, his thoughts, and actions, and He was going to give help to Adam where he was. Because He who made the eyes can see, God is seeing and He is watching over you for good; He knows where you are right now; He knows your thoughts, and He knows your feeling and mood; He knows the cause of your loneliness; He knows what you are trying to do personally to overcome it; He knows what you have not done right and know what you have done right; He promised and fulfilled His words and desires to Adam by giving Eve to him. God made that possible, He made that real and He turned the loneliness of Adam instantly around and gave joy to exclaim without looking back ‘this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh’. Your day of loneliness will soon be over; your day of standing alone, struggling alone, remaining alone, crying, and celebrating alone is ending in Jesus Name.

“Now the Lord God said it is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper one who balances him, a counterpart who is suitable and complementary for him. So the Lord God formed out of the ground every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. And the man gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every animal of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper that was suitable, a companion for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman, and He brought her and presented her to the man. Then Adam said this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed or embarrassed.”  Genesis 2:18-25. For Prayers Click here
