“I am forgotten as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery. For I hear many whispering, terror on every side. They conspire against me and plot to take my life. But I trust in you Lord, I say, You are my God. My times are in your hands, deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you, but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous. How abundant are the things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you? In the shelter of your presence, you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues. Praise be to the Lord for He showed me the wonders of His love when I was in a city under siege. In my alarm I said, I am cut off from your sight. Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.” Psalms 31:12-22

Many of us are very bitter with ourselves and crying because of the delays in seeing our prayers manifested the way we desire, in seeing our prayer request granted as was the case with Jabez, in seeing our promotions implemented after many years of denials and victimization, in seeing our marriages blessed as in the case of Sarah and Hannah, in seeing our job and businesses restored and progress as was the case of Job, in seeing our spouses succeed as was the case of Sarah and Abraham, in seeing our children grow up the way we want them as was the case of John the Baptist, in seeing our health become better every day as was the case of the centurion and the woman with the issue of blood, in seeing our enemies defeated as was the case of David and Goliath, and in seeing ourselves come out of debt and our finances increase according to God’s promises and faithfulness. We have done all we could and we are waiting and doubting.

But despite the doubt, despite the delays and despite the frustrations in waiting, God in His love and power will do to us exactly as He had said. Your destiny is not in your hands neither is it in the hands of the enemies, those who hate you, does not love you, or those who wishes you evil.

God was not late when He blessed Hannah with seven children even though she asked for just one. He was not late when He healed the invalid man after thirty-eight years of waiting, watching and expecting even when his family has lost all hope; He was not late when He gave Peter the miracle at the Lake of Gennesaret after a very disappointing and frustrating night; He was not late when He opened the doors for Mary to escape being humiliated by the family of Joseph, He was not late when He delivered Joseph from the prison and establish him as the prime minister in Egypt before Pharaoh. He was not late when He took the children of Israel out of Egypt, He was not late when He divided the Red Sea, He was not late when He forced Pharaoh to agree to the freedom and release of the children of Israel from captivity. He was not late when He gave you salvation after repentance; He was not late when He allowed you to see His mercy and He will not be late when He takes you out from this very captivity and shame and shame. He will do it.

You may not have what you want when you want them, but you will definitely have them at the appointed time God had set for you to have them. Sarah had delays, she could not have a child at the time she wanted despite having a sure promise from God, but she still had a child at the time God wanted and had set for her, God was not late then and He will not be late now despite the situation and the confrontations. The most important thing you can and should do is not to resign your faith, not to turn your back from God, not to forgo faithfulness to Him and obedience to His words and commands. Do you believe in the word of God? Believe also that He will never be late in fulfilling is words and His promises. You will surely celebrate Him. For prayers, Click here
