ANOINTING COMMANDS FAVOR (2)

When you have the anointing from heaven, you will not have to beg men or subject yourself to the will of men to get things done right. Anointing lifts God high up in every occasion and keeps Him on the right place in your life and in your actions. It enables godly favor and human favor to follow you and your actions. Remember, it was God's favor that followed David throughout his life and gave him victory against Goliath and kept him save against all the plots of Saul. The favor that comes from the heavenly anointing will never be mistaken for something else. Did you notice what Matthew wrote concerning Jesus Christ, David, and Abraham? “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham” Matthew 1:1. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the Son of the Almighty God is also called the son of David just because of the anointing and nothing else; that was the ultimate favor of the anointing in the life of David. It is certain that the anointing will bring you, your children and those with you a distinction that will outlive you, your children, your generation, and everyone who knows and follows you. This is so because anointing commands spiritual and physical favor from God and from men. That was what Abraham and his children and his generation enjoyed in their lifetime, and David, his children, and everyone who followed him also enjoyed.

The anointing of David came with great favor from the Lord on his life personally, his children, all the people who followed him, and the nation Israel that he ruled thereafter. Anointing has a multiplying effect on everyone and everything that comes in contact with it. We read how God changed and favored David, David’s four hundred men who were suffering hardship, who were in debts, who were discontented, rejected, insignificant, and aggrieved by all things when they submitted themselves to follow David. “So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father’s house heard about it, they went down there to him. Everyone who was suffering hardship, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him, and he became captain over them. There were about four hundred men with him.” 1 Samuel 22:1-3. Through the working power of the anointing and the favor of God that follows the anointing on David’s life, these four hundred suffering debtors, discontented and rejected men were favored, changed and became men of valor. David became captain over them, this was a team that needed a leader and they found that in David through the favor that follows the anointing, they were not mobs, and God does not work through mobs. He works through the men and women He called and anointed and others He calls to stand with and support those men and women. “And we know with great confidence that God who is deeply concerned about us causes all things to work together as a plan for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. For those whom He foreknew and loved and chose beforehand, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son and ultimately share in His complete sanctification, so that He would be the firstborn the most beloved and honored among many believers. And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified declared free of the guilt of sin; and those whom He justified, He also glorified raising them to a heavenly dignity.” Romans 8:27-30

David was the one anointed to be the next king, and he became Israel’s greatest earthly king, in His love, God also called these four hundred distressed, indebted, and discontented men to come beside David. David needed them as much as they needed him but they did not remain that way, they all became mighty men of valor, men trained for battle, men who through the favor of the anointing and the anointed were able to take on their God-given talents and fulfill their God’s designed destiny. They were called as David, but they were called and anointed to follow and to support David because David was called and anointed to lead. For prayers Click here
