“FATHER, WILL I STILL HAVE IT AS YOU PROMISED?”

It is a good thing to have good dreams; it is a good thing to have desires based on those dreams; it is a good thing to have better expectations for yourself, for your children, and for your spouse in everything you do and in what they also do in life despite what people may be saying and may be doing against you and against them; it is a good thing to truly wait on those dreams, to pray for the dreams, to truly labor for them, and it is important that you do not shift from God had in His love destined for you and for your family. After the dreams, the desires and the expectations and the labor for the dreams, another thing will definitely be to see the dream fulfilled, to see your labor rewarded and to meet your expectations and now the question that will be on your lips and on your heart will be ‘will I ever see the fulfillment of that dream?

There are many things that we are waiting for, expecting, praying for and desiring from our God and these are legitimate desires, expectations, and prayers, and there is nothing absolutely wrong in waiting for them, in asking for them in prayers and in expecting them from our God, and there is definitely no harm in having such a mindset as true Christians; in desiring, praying, waiting and trusting God, we have asked so many silent questions in our hearts and many more are still without answers. Some of such questions are: God when will I get married? When will I have children? When will I have a job with commensurate compensation? When will my dream come true? When will I have my promotion or confirmation? What am currently going through in life will it be resolved to my advantage? These troubling issues in my finances, marriage, family, job, home, and in my profession how will it end? Will this issue be resolved sooner or later? Will I live to see the best of life? Will I still have it as God had said? The life, the safety, the peace, the joy, the good health, the healing, and the breakthrough that God have promised will I ever see and have it as He said? These questions are true and real and God is never offended that we have and ask such questions. There is nothing absolutely impossible in and with our God. He is able to do all things including yours and mine; He is willing to accomplish what He had started in you and He is willing to be in and with you and willing to walk with you through the area of your doubts and fears in life despite what the devil may do. In his testimony, David said even though he walks through the valley of the shadow of death, he will fear no evil, because he was sure that God was with him throughout; that same God is with you.

Despite all the questions necessitated by undue delays and denials causing frustrations, anxiety, anger, and discouragement, the good news is that you have a trusted Father in the Almighty God who is helping you in all of your needs daily, who is keeping you alive, who is defending you by the power of His words, who is raising up from every pit of shame and despair when you fall and fail, who is still speaking good things about you despite your known and unknown weaknesses in life, who also had given a command to His invisible angels to keep and protect you against every force seeking to destroy you, who had also assured that your safety and promises from him was sealed and secured permanently by the unfailing blood of Jesus Christ. Because His seal on you cannot be broken and had not been broken, there is every assurance that you will have it as He had said. Whatever He had promised will be fulfilled and your expectations in Him will be granted.

It is very certain that you will set your feet where God had promised; it is very certain you will not miss the way despite the sources of your confusion and attacks; it is certain that Christ Jesus is with, in you and will go with you till you have it. “Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. The Lord does not delay as though He were unable to act and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is extraordinarily patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9.
