YOU WILL TAKE POSSESSION OF THE PROMISE

Post date: Jul 3, 2015 12:20:24 AM

Caleb was one man out of twelve spies sent by Moses to go ahead of the children of Israel and to take a look at the land God had promised them while they were in bondage in Egypt; Caleb was one of the spies who diligently distinguished himself in time of fears, in time of despair, in time of general confusion, in time of agitation for a perfect direction, in time of uncertainty and in time for the display of true leadership by Moses whom God had chosen to lead. Caleb was one man who bluntly refused to go with the general expectation of the crowd and by his singular action, put his life in line for subsequent destruction by the crowd who were very fearful and confused on what to expect, where to go thereafter, the direction to take forward, their future and that of all their children, and their entire dream and wealth. Without looking back, without fear of his colleagues, of Moses and the people, Caleb put his life at risk to give the people of Israel the assurance they needed for better days for them if they will make it to the Land that God had promised to give to them.

He stood up to encourage the people in ties of discouragement; he stood up to assure the people that God was with them as long as they kept His words and promises; he stood in the midst of the people to declare the faithfulness of the God who had promised them and had called them out of the Egypt and who will lead them to the place He had said will give to them. Caleb did all that because he knew the God he had followed and served; he knew the God he trusted; he knew the God he believed in; he knew the God who was leading them; and he knew the God who is never afraid of any situation. Calen knew God was with them and very much in their midst even when the giants were against them. What you know of your God determines what you will do in life.

Caleb knew that God will never fail in His words and promises irrespective of the situation; he knew He will never lead them to and through places He will never be; he knew he will never lead them astray; he knew God will never allow the enemies to destroy them irrespective of their numbers and weapons; he knew God will never lie and that in every situation, He will always be true; he knew God will never give up on them because of the intimidation of the people and will never change His mind because of the thoughts of the people. He knew God’s ways are perfect and His words are forever true and settled for all who will ever trust in them.

Caleb knew the giants in the land were very many, very strong and very capable of stopping them and he also knew His God will never allow them to overcome them or stop any of them from passing through or take passion of the land according to God’s plans and desire for them. Irrespective of the giants before and behind you; irrespective of their strength, number, wealth and capability, they will be able to stop you from becoming what God had said of you; they will never be able to stop you from taking possession of what God had destined for you; they will never be able to turn your God away from assisting and enabling you to fulfill His words and desires as you depend on Him alone

“The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan. Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, we should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. But the men who had gone up with him said we can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are. And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, the land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Numbers 13:29-33.

The giants will say no, but God will give you the land for you inheritance because He had promised. The giants are there to hinder but they will not stop you; the strong are there to frighten you but they will never overcome you; the wealthy are there to buy you off but they will never be able to pay the price.
