WHERE ARE YOU LEADING ME TO DEAR LORD? (3)

Certainly there is a better destination when God leads despite the troubles and the fears of what the devil is doing and the ideas we have that things are not going right with us. We can quite remember the life of David from the very first day God mentioned him to Samuel until the day he sat on the throne as king in Israel. It was not smooth for him, he had a near-death experience, he saw attacks and humiliations and he had fears of what life is all about, but despite all that he saw, experienced and knew, God who had called him with a promise kept His words and David was firmly established in Israel. David later wrote expressing what he went through in life and how God and what God did to him and for him till God’s words for him were fulfilled; “The Lord is my Shepherd to feed, to guide and to shield me, I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod to protect and Your staff to guide, they comfort and console me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell forever throughout all my days in the house and in the presence of the Lord.” Psalms 23:1-6

David had quite an experience living to become what had said and he had a good testimony of how it all ended. Life on earth is filled experiences but for every Christian who allows God to lead his or her ways, the end will glorify God despite all the odds and shame from the devil. It is evident that success is what we need and our God is capable of giving us the success we deserve and He will definitely give us, but the day and time and moment are in His hands and He will not disappoint us or change His covenant and His plans concerning you. David was not discouraged by the activities of Saul, he was not discouraged when he experienced hardship, hunger, and loneliness in the caves, and he was not discouraged when he was humiliated. He attributed his success to the leading of God and the anointing he received in the hands of Samuel and he assured himself that goodness and mercy shall follow him always. God’s salvation comes with God’s mercies and His goodness despite whatever the devil may do in between to discourage and frustrate you to the point of thinking giving up on yourself and on the words of God you had held all these years.

In all cases and in all situations when God is leading you irrespective of the odds and the insults, irrespective of the hunger and the loneliness, irrespective of the humiliation and the shame, the inner and outward fear, the uncertainties and the disappointments, God will not lead you to a place where He will abandon you for lack of ability to take you through or lack of knowledge that things will be hard and difficult and the ways you will have to go through before you are able to receive the things He had promised and the success you truly deserve will not tough and rough. When He leads you to the Red Sea, He will not abandon you there; when He leads you to the wilderness, He will be there with you, when He leads you to a place where you will always be tempted by people and by Satan, He will be there with you, when He leads you to a place where the demands on your truthfulness and faithfulness and sincerity will be high and difficult to meet, He will be there with you to ensure you are not compromised and not tainted by the evil intentions of men to destroy you before God and before others looking for your downfall or your success. Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 7:5-6 of their experienced when God lead them to Macedonia for a mission; “For even when we arrived in Macedonia our bodies had no rest, but we were oppressed, at every turn conflicts and disputes without, fears and dread within. But God who comforts and encourages the depressed and the disquieted, comforted us by the arrival of Titus.” God is there to give you comfort even in your afflictions. Prayer Request Click here
