YOUR DREAMS AND PEOPLE

After every divine dream, you will definitely need many people to successfully fulfill every step of the dream. Though God gave you alone the dreams and the vision, you are never alone in this life and in your walk and desire to reach your destined destiny as determined by God on earth. Though you received the dream and vision alone, you will definitely need a lot more people to help you fulfill the dream. Without the right people around you, that great and right dream of yours will remain dormant for a very long time, giving the devil enough time to temper with your thoughts and views, and also help to destroy you in order to prevent the dream from accomplishing its purpose in the lives of men it was destined to bless around you.

Though you are very important in respect to the dream, though God is using you as the pioneer in the dream, every other person on the way to fulfilling that dream are as important and relevant to God and to the dream as you are in the functions they will perform. Each of these individuals will perform different functions which are carefully designed by God to help you reach His goal and fulfill His plans. Before reaching your final stage of the dream, God will definitely take you through various types and kinds of people, and will expose you to several people, some with the right intention and many with the wrong intention.

These people are very important in every aspect of your dream and you will definitely meet and need many of them. As you hold on to the dream, some of these people will help you on the right way to follow or discourage you from keeping the right path. In pursuing the dream, you will not be able to avoid the wrong people, but you will definitely be able to keep the dream going in your mind and actions. This is what God wants you to do despite the people and the situations that you will meet on the way.

We can recall when God gave Abraham all the promise, he was directed to leave everything and everyone and follow the promise: “Now the Lord said to Abram, go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.” Genesis 12:1. We also know that when he took the step towards fulfilling the command, many people attached themselves to him including Lot and his immediate family. Abraham did not in any way seek to send them away, but God in His best wisdom took them all out of Abraham’s ways gradually and peacefully until he reached the final place of the fulfillment of the promise.

When God gave Joseph his two dreams, ‘tying up bundles of grain out in the field, and the sun and moon and the eleven stars bowing down to him,’ Genesis 37:7, 9, the first people to react with an open expression of doubt were his parents: they never expected the dream to be true and realistic, but their reaction did not stop Joseph from believing, trusting and holding on to the given dream. The next were his immediate brothers; they hated him for the dream, conspired to kill him to stop fulfilling the dream, but finally sold him into slavery. Their conduct was as a result of their knowledge of the destiny mapped out for Joseph by God. “Here comes that dreamer, they said to one another. Come let’s kill him. Then we’ll see whether his dreams will come true.” Genesis 37:19-20

The decision of his brothers took Joseph to places God never told him in the dream, exposed him to people who exploited him; exposed him to situations he never thought could ever happen to him. Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelite traders for eight ounces of silver and taken to Egypt; was resold to Potiphar and abused by his wife. Joseph was then sent to prison where he met Pharaohs butler and baker and subsequently met Pharaoh and the dream was fulfilled thereafter. Hold on to your dreams, trust and follow God despite the people you meet in your life, God will fulfill His dreams in your life. For prayers, Click here
