"WHAT PHARAOH SAW AT THE RED SEA (2)"

“The Sovereign Lord said the Philistines have taken cruel revenge on their agelong enemies and destroyed them in their hate. And so I am announcing that I will attack the Philistines and wipe them out. I will destroy everyone left living there on the Philistine Plain. I will punish them severely and take full revenge on them. They will feel my anger. Then they will know that I am the Lord. I will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip, their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them. Indeed, the Lord will give justice to his people, and he will change his mind about his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free. Then he will ask, where are their gods, the rocks they fled to for refuge? Where now are those gods, who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their offerings? Let those gods arise and help you, let them provide you with shelter. Look now; I myself am He, there is no other god but me, I am the one who kills and gives life; I am the one who wounds and heals; no one can be rescued from my powerful hand. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, I will take revenge; I will pay them back, says the Lord. So the Egyptians said, let us flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.” Ezekiel 2515-17; Deuteronomy 32:35-39; Romans 12:19; Exodus 14:25b

Even Pharaoh's armies confessed that the Lord was fighting for the children of Israel when they saw in their amazement what was happening to them in the Red Sea. Did you know God is still fighting for His people; He is still giving them victory and will continue giving them victory even when they are weak and armless and powerless and shamefully treated and discouraged and humiliated and disappointed? Did you know God is still looking after you even you do not feel that way? Did you know He had not forgotten the blood that was shed on your behalf at Calvary? He had not forgotten your salvation through Christ Jesus and the public and private confession of faith. He had not forgotten He had given you a promise and that you are still waiting and expecting the total fulfillment of that promise. Four hundred and thirty years after did not make God in any way forget the promise He made to Abraham and for his descendants. The punishment in Egypt, the suffering in Egypt, the harsh treatments they received did not stop the children of Israel to pray and di not stop God to hear and anger and did not stop God from acting to fulfill His words.

It will interest you to know that the devil has a plan against the children of God, but his plans will not stop or prevent the plans of God from being fulfilled. Pharaoh came to the Red Sea with a plan of war to execute against the children of Israel but contrary to his thoughts, expectations, weapons, and knowledge, he saw God’s plan being executed without hindrance or opposing force of action. Pharaoh came to the Red Sea fully prepared but his preparation was inadequate when God is in control and where God is the commander of the affairs in that situation.

Did you know that nothing will stop your God from humiliating pharaoh if that will honor Him in your life? Pharaoh was not only humiliated; he was rendered ineffective to his shame and the shame of his advisers and counselors. Pharaoh lost his own pride, the pride of his army, the pride of his chariots and horses and the pride of his name. At the Red Sea God purposely kept Pharaoh alive to see His amazing acts, to see the power of His revenge, to see the interest He has in His children, to see that no one can challenge God’s plans and no one will refuse His words and counsel without consequences. God kept him alive but enabled him to see with his own eyes what He can do and that there is no power, no challenge and no weapon that is capable to prevent Him when He rises to act on the behalf of His children. This is the promise, “I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers.” Isaiah 65:24. For prayers Click here
