LORD, PLEASE TAKE ME BEYOND THIS CROSS

Christ specifically said you should carry your cross and follow Him. The cross He asked that you carry is not that of evil works but of good works. It is not sin, but of righteousness; it is not of compromise the true word of God, but of standing on the truth despite the resistance. It is not of crying on afflictions, but of praying in and through afflictions; it is not of anger of the prevailing circumstances, of envy and of malice, but of forgiveness and of love. It is not of punitive retaliations but of helping and correcting in peace, it is of your thoughts in any situation, but of His words in that situation. It is not of people’s popular acceptable opinions, but of the scriptural truth, it is that faithfulness and diligence in the things you do as a Christian. It is of joy from the heart, of gladness in His name, and never of any form of anger and jealousy. The cross of godly love and sincerity and of moral excellence, this is the cross that is very appropriate for you to carry that will produce results beyond expectations, not that of bitterness, wickedness and anger.

You were called and commanded to carry your cross and to follow, not to stand idle, watching, sit or wonder about aimlessly or to die under its weights, pains, shame, and abuses that follows carrying of cross. You were asked to carry the cross and to keep moving towards a goal, not stop moving. Never compare your cross with that of others, you will end up being very bitter with yourself, with the system and with every person else around you. Though every person’s cross is not the same, some will definitely be bigger, heavier, more painful, more shameful and last a little longer, they are all instruments that attacks great rewards from our Father in heaven when you carry it faithfully and diligently to the end. Remember, there is no endless cross.

Every cross carrier will suffer abuse, but will never be defeated, will suffer pains, but will never be crushed and will definitely be rewarded thereafter.

Crosses are sweeter to carry when the time and distance are short and the weight light, but when the time and the distance are longer than anticipated, we begin to crumble under its weight, but irrespective of the time and distance you are called to carry the cross, God will never forsake you there. I know the longer the duration, the more painful, angrier, discouraged and bitter in thoughts, words and actions we become. But God will not abandon you as long as you carry the right cross at the right time and keep following Him in truth and sincerity. Jesus told the disciples

“Saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things and be deliberately disapproved and repudiated and rejected on the part of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death and on the third day be raised again. And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]. For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it from the penalty of eternal death. For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits himself? Because whoever is ashamed of Me and of My teachings, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in the glory the splendor and majesty of Himself and of the Father and of the holy angels.” Luke 9:22-26

Despite all odds and thoughts of men, Abraham carried His cross in absolute obedience and God rewarded Him at the end. Despite the shame and doubts of others, Noah carried his cross in true obedience and God rewarded him during and after the flood. Daniel carried his cross in sincere obedience in prayers and God rewarded him by preserving him in the lion’s den.  Christ Jesus carried His cross in obedience and God rewarded Him by raising Him from the death. You will not be destroyed by the cross you are called to carry. You will not end in nothing because of the cross. Every cross has a crown and a reward, God will not deny you either. Prayer Click here
