GOD’S EXPECTATION

Post date: Nov 23, 2012 5:50:58 AM

God did not just make you and dump you in the world without a responsibility and a demand for accountability. He did not just throw you into the world only for you to fend for yourself. Just as His grace and love for you are inexhaustible, His plans, purpose and desires for you also are inexhaustible. Because He is quite able and willing to fulfill His plans in your life, He has placed a very high expectation on you every moment of the day. Never think for a moment that God had forsaken you, there is no reason tangible enough, given by any man in any situation for Him to do that. Do not let the devil convince and deceive you about that, and do let your situation, good or bad, pleasant or not so pleasant, be the measuring stick to confirm God’s faithfulness and commitment to your success in life. His unfailing words and your unalloyed faith in His ability are the very best things to use in measuring yourself each day.

Because of His high expectations and commitment to man’s success, immediately after making the first couple in His image and likeness, He placed them on a chosen east side of the Garden of Eden, a place that was very suitable for His expectations on them to be fulfilled, He provided water and make adequate provisions for the ground to be productive, and He also gave them a life-long instruction to keep. These were His actions and words of instruction:

“Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. And the Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden [delight]; and there He put the man whom He had formed (framed, constituted). And out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight or to be desired good (suitable, pleasant) for food; the tree of life also in the center of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of [the difference between] good and evil and blessing and calamity.” And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, you may freely eat of every tree of the garden; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:7-9, 15-17

God will not give you an assignment He knows you cannot successfully complete; He will not allow you to face any form of temptation that you will be declared a failure. And He will not place you on a place He knows you will not be fruitful despite the odds of life and location.

For Adam and Eve to be successful in their assignment, God gave them instructions to keep and to follow, the same thing goes for you, identify the instructions of God for your success, keep and diligently follow them. Every form of labor in every profession or vocation is associated with some kind of pains. Those pains in your labor are no hindrance to your success, but your commitment to productivity in that same labor is what guarantees success. Disappointments, abuses, frustrations and condemnation are also associated with labor, but they are no hindrance either to your success in the chosen labor or success in your life generally, but your continuous determination, desire and focus are the determining factor. To Adam and Eve, though placed in the best place on earth, success in taking care of the ground assigned to them was no small thing; it did require their being very diligent to all the given instructions, being committed to the duty, being completely focused and continuing therein in them. Remember, just a second loss of focus did take them out of the garden completely. These should not be your portion; God has a special interest in your success in every labor He permits in your life.

Take a step of faith to be fulfilled, redefined your priorities in life, your focus in life and career, your desires and God’s desires and be determined to be successful. God is watching over you for good. It was God’s habit to visit Adam and Eve in their labor in the assigned location each day. To you, God does not visit; He is with you and dwells in you every day. Amen
