DEAR LORD, I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A BAD NAME (3)

Post date: Feb 20, 2019 4:45:44 AM

Bad names that are given to good people and mostly to Christians who are truly born again indeed by the renewal of their heart by the word of God are never new, the enemies had been using this means against believers for years and will continue but it will not affect their chances in what will and had destined to do for and with them. The enemy is not bothered by your being a Christian but become angry when in truth you become a committed believing Christian to the commandments of God and seeking to have changes in your own life, making changes in the words you speak and listen to, and changing your actions. They give you bad names for standing up for the truth, refusing all the evil they offer or follow the evil they design. I want you to know that the devil and his agents, irrespective of their understanding and your explanation, will always resist the true word of God and fight against those holding onto it and depending on it.

For refusing to commit adultery offered by his master’s wife, Joseph was strongly hated, accused falsely and he subsequently spent years in prison even in his innocence? Yet that hatred and all that they did against Joseph did not change God’s mind concerning him and His plans for his life then and thereafter. The bad names given to you because you are a believer and follower of the principles of Christ Jesus will not affect what God had planned, designed and destined for you. Though through their actions and words, they meant evil against you, God can turn it for your good if you remain faithful despite the hurts from the bad names. I know instances where good believing Christians are called bad names for not earning enough, for not wearing certain things, for not having children, for not not being married, for refusing alcoholic drinks, for refusing to follow some social engagements, for waiting on God for breakthroughs, for fasting and waiting for God’s instructions, blessings and for many other things they are called lazy, unproductive and so on, but God who is interested in you is able and He will show Himself able in you and in your case. There is absolutely nothing that will take His love away from you because of the bad name and nothing will change His plans for your life now or in the nearest or in the farthest future.

When Nebuchadnezzar invaded Israel, he took back to Babylon among other things several able-bodied sons of Judah as captives and prisoners of war, among those, were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. In getting to Babylone, besides putting them in prison, nebuchadnezzar’s commanders gave these Israelites Babylonian names refusing to call them by their real names, they gave them names that were offensive to them, yet what the names did not stop God in acting in His ways and taking the glory in their lives.

It is interesting to know that despite giving and calling Daniel Belteshazzar, the name and their action did not stop God from hearing Daniel when he decided to keep himself from the pollution of eating defiled food and drinking defiled drinks that were offered to them from the kings table when he fasted and prayed; the name did not stop God from opening the prison door for him to walk out as a free man, and the name did not stop God from giving him favor before the king and promoting him beyond measure. It is also observed that despite calling Hananiah Shadrach, and calling  Mishael Meshach, and calling Azariah Abed-nego, God was still with them ready to show Himself in a mighty way in their lives. The bad names they were given did not stop God in any way from delivering openly from the burning furnace set up by Nebuchadnezzar and his evil commanders to destroy these three men. Despite the bad name, they were rewarded and promoted in the kingdom above others. The God who kept and blessed them will also keep and bless you. “Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; Hananiah Shadrach; Mishael Meshach; and Azariah Abednego.” Daniel 1:6-7 Prayer Request Click here
