DECLARING WHAT I NEED

Post date: Oct 25, 2012 4:50:15 AM

Despite our daily afflictions and pains, despite the words and plans of the devil, despite what we have seen and experienced through the years, despite what we have been told by men, colleague parents, and leaders, despite what we have read from the print media, despite our unfailing fears of today and that of tomorrow, despite the lies from the pit of hell concerning anything that we desire and that concerns us, God has better plans and purposes for each and every one of us. He has no intent of holding us captives or keeping us in captivity. We cannot keep the devil from his lies, but we can stop the lies from manifesting in our lives. This had to done purposely by the grace given to us by Christ Jesus our Lord. AS children of the living God, the scripture gives us the authority to resist the devil with the assurance that he will surely flee irrespective of the number of years it takes to do so.

In carrying out this order, we should be very specific and precise, calling the devil who he is truly and not what he is assumed to be. We should call a spade a spade while subjecting ourselves continually to God’s love and mercies “So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery].” James 4:7-8

Not until we take a firm stand against afflictions, they will continue to plague our lives. We have to rise up and say no to affliction and condemnation, we have to stand up and claim that which had been freely given to us by our heavenly Father. The devil has nothing to do with our gifts but to destroy them and render us useless and unfruitful and we have to reverse that. Though the devil is sprawling, and crawling everywhere unaware to many, his activities are well known to the world and to believers to see.

Though we may seem powerless in many things, our God is powerful in all things. Though we may not be as knowledgeable as we should, but our God is knowledgeable in all things. Though we are not able to withstand the devil alone in anything, our God is well able to defeat him and He had done that several times over and will do it again. If we fail to say no and to resist his activities, it means we have accepted them as part of us, but I know we have not accepted such.

Christ Jesus instructing the disciples then, now and in the future, said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I Am in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:18-20

We gain strength, courage, and confidence today and for the future by every experience when we stand together in true according to the word of God in every situation, when we look at the devil through the word of God and ask the devil to stop afflicting us, and we will able to say to ourselves individually, I can take the next step to my greatness in life.
