DEAR LORD, GIVE ME A DREAM

Asking for a dream is nothing new and is nothing bad before God and man, but it is dangerous to have one when you do not have godly scriptural understanding, and when you deliberately work outside the will of God in the ways you think, live and act. God will not deny you a dream when you ask for one; He will not give you a dream without giving you someone who will help you in accurate interpretation from the wealth of His written scripture; He will not give you something else when you are true with the intent of the dream you ask in its place.

Be courageous enough to ask for a dream from the Lord always, be consistent in asking, be ready to seek appropriate understanding, and be ready to act accordingly. Matthew 7:7-8 encourages us to keep doing just that. “Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking reverently and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, the door will be opened.”

We can overcome several things in life when we seek, obtain and walk with a true dream from the Almighty God. We can overcome every form of anxiety, everyday strife, relational discords, feuds with colleagues, conflicts in business, quarrel with people, infighting in places of work, emulations of people, jealousy of others, murdering because of misunderstanding, envy of others successes, and anger with self. In the book of James we read, “What leads to strife, discord and feuds and how do conflicts, quarrels and fighting originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members? You are jealous and covet what others have and your desires go unfulfilled; so you become murderers. You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek, so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask. Or you do ask God for them and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is when you get what you desire to spend it in sensual pleasures.” James 4:1-3

One of the easiest ways to appropriately navigate your tomorrow, take advantage of yourself and the opportunities that you will have, make good profits, secure needed deliverance and victory is having a dream that reveals the future and gives direction on how to get it done the way God had destined it to be.

It is good to know that God will not give you meaningless dreams; neither will He give you dreams that put you in conflict with yourself or with others. He will not give you dreams that will not advance His work, His purpose, His desire while bring you out of troubles, securing deliverance for you to manifest His glory and be blessed. Every dream from God will first seek the peace of God and will be achieved peacefully through His wisdom.

It is good to know that it was through the dream Pharaoh that enabled him to seek audience with Joseph. That meeting helped Pharaoh to overcome adversity in his country and helped Joseph to be fulfilled in the plans that God had revealed to him earlier. It will amaze you that Pharaoh had to go to the prisons to meet Joseph.

It will interest you to know that it was through dream that Daniel first met with Nebuchadnezzar and other kings after him, those meetings enabled Daniel and his three good friends (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) to be given influential positions in the government even in a foreign land until the people started envying them. Your dream can change you and position you for God’s greatness. Ask God for one today and seek proper understanding. For prayers Click here
