While the Cross of Jesus Christ gives us hope, it also gives us peace of mind in time of troubling thoughts, gives us victory in all battles, while the blood Jesus shed on that Cross gave healing to our bodies at all times in all sickness and weakness and defends us. The Cross was not in vain and will never be irrespective of the time, the place and the situation. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:1-11

Because of Christ victory on the Cross, because of the reasons for the Cross, and because of the price paid on the Cross, we have the confidence to put our eyes on Jesus Christ, we have the confidence to put our hope on Him, we have the confidence to put our trust in Him and to rely on Him at all times and in all situations. “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, He endured the Cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:2-3.

Jesus Christ did not go to the Cross with anger, did not accuses anyone of betraying Him, did not allow the tortures and humiliations to distract Him, did not allow the insults He received to discourage Him. He went with a purpose and He fulfilled the purpose with Joy. “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ, you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. In Him, you were circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Colossians 2:13-15

The Cross of Jesus Christ gives hope, assurance, confidence, and peace in all things and at all times irrespective of the circumstances, the troubles, the situations and in whatever location we find ourselves. The Cross is active forever everywhere and every day. That is where our freedom from the powers of darkness and sin was accomplished. With the power of the Cross of Jesus Christ, we have peace with God and obtain mercy to be His children. For prayers, Click here
