LORD, THERE ARE BATTLES IN MY MIND

This is what many of us are suffering from and its cause great setbacks in our lives as believers in Christ Jesus and as Christians who are called to make a difference and impact in this world in a godly positive way, and we cannot afford to fail our Lord Jesus Christ even when people count and see us as failures every day. There is nothing as dangerous to any human being irrespective of their religion, profession, age, gender, color, language, nationality and location as the battle of and in the mind. The battle of and in the mind is so dangerous and powerful that it makes the very bright ones to be confused even in what they know well enough to succeed to look like bad failures and to struggle with and in it; it makes those who are not so bright to feel cheated and want to give up; it makes those who are weak to quit easily and refused to be challenged; it makes those with knowledge to think they know nothing, and it makes the strong to be weak and irrelevant. The battle of the mind and in the mind destroys great visions; it always condemns you and your actions in everything and forces you to condemn others even in their very best times of performance. It destroys the power in you to pursue the dreams and desires of your heart and life. The battle of the mind and in the mind is judgmental in nature until God steps in to change it and change you, you will never achieve what He had planned and destined for you in life.

The battles of the mind makes you to remain clueless on what good thing to do for yourself or for others even when you have given the very best offer in life; it makes you fearful to take a step towards any of the promises of God for your life; it makes you very suspicious of people, of your spouse, children, colleagues, family members, friend and your environment, and at the end, it will leave you friendless and less-friendly, lonely, rejected, enslaved to yourself and self-pity, unattractive to other people, and angry at everything that passes you by day or night or anyone who comes in contact with you in any form and for any reason. The battle of the mind causes both internal and external bitterness, spiritual and physical backwardness that can block your chances in life forever; it can turn you into an agent of wickedness and an instrument of the devil in many ways and it can turn you into what you have never wanted to be or wish to be in life

Most of the battles of the mind and in the mind are concerned with what to do or what not to do; where to go somewhere else or not to go anywhere; whether to accept an offer or reject the offer; whether to accept a failure and quit or still push forward toward success; whether to follow the leads in the words of God or follow the lead in the advice of successful friends; whether to stand up for a divine purpose even when it hurts and seem contrary to your dreams and desires or stand up for only personal purpose that satisfies only personal dreams. Most are as a result of several years of struggles, failures, disappointments, discouragements, loneliness, shame and lack of any tangible things to do in life.

James the Apostle of Jesus Christ also gave some other sources of the battles in and on our minds: “What leads to the unending quarrels and conflicts among you? Do they not come from your hedonistic desires that wage war in your bodily members, fighting for control over you? You are jealous and covet what others have and your lust goes unfulfilled; so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain the object of your envy; so you fight and battle. You do not have because you do not ask it of God. You ask God for something and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda, so that when you get what you want you may spend it on your hedonistic desires. You adulteresses, do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose that the human spirit which He has made to dwell in us lusts with envy?” James 4:1-5. God desires you to have victory over that battle of the mind and in your mind today. Click here for prayer
