ANOINTING COMES WITH DEMANDS (3)

The demands of the anointing is tough in many ways, but they are not designed by God to destroy you, destroy your chances in living well, being a true success, or bring shame into your life, rather, they are designed to enhance, enlarge, empower, confirm, uplift, and prove you before God and man in the area God is calling you to operate in His name and for His purpose on earth. The devil calls the demands on Christ temptation, but God called it a test; the calls what we go through every day a temptation but God calls them a test of our faith and when we see our daily physical ordeals and the spiritual demands on us daily as a temptation, we will become afraid, disturbed and confused, but when we see them through the eyes of the Almighty God as a test, we will be able to stand the test, endure the pains, keep the faith and have the success. The result of every test is big and sweet, but the results of temptation are bitter memories and many failures. What is ahead for you after the demands of the anointing are great, far greater than what you know, think, and understand, bigger and better than what you have been told and far greater than your best dreams and your utmost desires in life. “Therefore we do not become discouraged, spiritless, disappointed, or afraid. Though our outer self is progressively wasting away, yet our inner self is being progressively renewed day by day. For our momentary light distress, this passing trouble is producing for us an eternal weight of glory, a fullness, beyond all measure, surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor, and an endless blessedness. So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal, just brief and fleeting, but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. The demands of the anointing take you up high and keep you high making you more relevant, useful, and successful.

This is what happened after the demands on Jesus Christ and the temptation by Satan; all that Satan wanted was for Him to compromise on what He knew, who He to obey, and what He truly desired to live and work for: “When the devil had finished every temptation, he temporarily left Him until a more opportune time. Then Jesus went back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news about Him spread throughout the entire region. And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised and glorified and honored by all. So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor, He has sent me to announce release, pardon, forgiveness to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, bruised, crushed; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, the day when salvation and the favor of God abound greatly. Then He rolled up the scroll having stopped in the middle of the verse, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all those in the synagogue were attentively fixed on Him. He began speaking to them: today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing and in your presence. And as He continued on they all were speaking well of Him, and were in awe and were wondering about the words of grace which were coming from His lips, and they were saying, is this not Joseph’s son?” Luke 4:13-22. Before this day and time, He was known by the people as Jesus the son of Joseph the carpenter, but after that day, He became known as the Jesus the Christ, the Messiah and the Son of God. How you handle the demands will change you, change what people know and say of you, change your views and perspective on issues and bring you to where God wants for your life. Jesus Christ succeeded in that test, you will also succeed; His fame went out thereafter, yours will go out hereafter; men gave Him their attention, men will pay attention to you, your words, and the things you do hereafter.
