DEAR LORD, WHY WAIT?

Post date: Mar 28, 2014 4:00:05 AM

When painful and adverse situations persist longer than necessary despite all sincere confession and total repentance, despite all genuine and purposeful salvation, despite several days of sincere soul searching prayers, fasting and worship; despite all personal resolve to hold to God in absolute faithfulness and confidence, one is definitely be forced to ask “dear Lord, why wait, why keep me guessing, why this long, and when will the change come?  But despite the sincere questions in your heart and on your lips, God is ever loving and ever willing to do what you ask for in your request, and He will do that which is right in your life.

I want you to know that when God delays His answer to your request, when the adversities still persist, and you have not faulted in your true and sincere walk with Him, then it is clear, God wants to glorify Himself in your life openly before the world. When this is to come, He normally He sets up the stage, allowing you to experience them, allow people to notice you in them while keeping you unharmed in them. Thereafter, He comes in His time to do what He had desired to do. Know that when such happens, you will not be consume, neither will you be destroyed despite the pains and the number of days you may experience them. Job prayed consistently and walked with all sincerity and excellence before man and God long before his ordeal began, yet God allowed him to stand such trial of faith and testing by the devil and men. Though God allowed it, He kept him from being destroyed. Though Job asked the same question you are asking today, God restored him excellently more than he was before. He did that before the same people who had counted him out completely and concluded he will be anything again. Job was described as blameless, one who fears God and maintains a complete integrity before the devil came with his temptation. “There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil.” Job 1:1

It will amaze you to know that even though God had not answered your why question the way want them to be answered, He is actively working on your behalf to glorify His name. Even though you are completely overwhelmed by your present troubling situation, God is still active working a way for your deliverance, for your safety, for your healing and for your blessings.

In the case of Job, God did not stop the devil, did not stop his friends and family members from departing from him, and did not stop people from calling him names. God waited until they completely exhausted their plans and their works in the life of Job before stepping in to glorify His name in his life openly.

God is not waiting until the devil disgraces you, he is not waiting until you cry out, He is not waiting until you go begging, He is not waiting until you fall away from His grace, He is not waiting until you are killed and destroyed by the devil, He is only waiting for the appropriate time to restore you, to bless you openly for people to see His love for you and His power working through and in you, He is waiting to take the praise that He deserved through you.

Irrespective of what is pending in your life, that of your spouse, your children, your job and anything else that borders your life, God is not waiting until you take matters into your hands; situations might want to compel you, but God will keep you from committing any evil that will hinder His will in your life. He is still working in your life to perfect His promises. David concluded: “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever” Psalm 23:5-6. For prayers, Click here
