"LORD, I AM DEEPLY DISCOURAGED (2)"

When we remember the good past days or years while the present is not so good despite doing our utmost best and working harder and when we compare the present with the past and take a look at the future compare to what is happening now, we feel discouraged and think things will never be good again, but our past is gone, the present is here and can change and the future is securely in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His plans and program for each of His beloved Children, we can be assured that God will do things that we cannot do and had not done. I am convinced that this present discouragement will go away, things will change, God will not in any way leave us where we are and will not abandon His plans for our lives. “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18

The love of God abounds forever and grace is multiplied every day. In God's plans, our suffering is temporal and in His presence, our lives are enhanced every day. The present discouragement and its feelings or anything else that causes the discouragement will never separate us from God’s love, from God’s plans, from God’s purpose for our lives, from God grace in through Christ and from His purpose in creating, in saving our souls and calling us to His children. It is written in the Scriptures, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? As the Scriptures say, for your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep. No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below, indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39. That is an assurance that God will not fail us despite the discouragement and its associated feeling and the fear of the future compared to what is happening now.

The words of men when they see our current situation and disposition are scheduled to make us look inadequate, inferior, unaccomplished and discouraged but the word of God is designed to bring us up and out of anything that will ever affect our thoughts and minds negatively. It is the source of all hope, all assurances, and all victory. The time we are discouraged by anything or feel discouraged by our situations is also the time that Satan intensifies his temptations and uses the situation to offer us several suggestive alternatives to take and to follow, he might even give us references in the scripture and give us several examples in the lives of other believers; but please remember God is with you despite the feelings and He will give us the grace to overcome. Christ Jesus told Satan in the wilderness when He was tempted for forty days; “During that time the devil came and said to him, if you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread. But Jesus told him, no, the Scriptures say, people do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, if you are the Son of God, jump off, for the Scriptures say, He will order his angels to protect you, and they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. Jesus responded, the Scriptures also say, you must not test the Lord your God. Next, the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. I will give it all to you, he said, if you will kneel down and worship me. Get out of here, Satan, Jesus told him. For the Scriptures say, you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him. Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.” Matthew 4:3-11. God's angels will guide you always. For prayers Click here
