MY FATHER, MY LORD, I AM LOST (4)

We are always lost in thoughts, lost in cogent ideas on what's next, lost in relationships, lost on earthly competitions, lost on the list of honors and lost in the eyes of men, lost when no one is there ready to help, lost when what want to do we can’t, lost when we have no home to return to, no farm to cultivate, no bank account to trust, and no investment to rely upon, but we are never lost God’s sight, we are never lost in God’s program and we will never be lost in His blessings. We may think we are done and our lives are wasted, but no, we are valuable in the eyes of Him who made us, who saved us, who called, us and who asked us to follow His words and ways. We are never lost when we walk in obedience to His commands even when it seems we are.

Abraham thought he was lost when he obeyed God and moved out as commanded, he thought he had missed out of God’s plans for his life, he thought he was lost, but he was never lost in the eyes of the Almighty God, in His power, God established him where he wanted and designed for him to inherit. “So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.  After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram, look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted. Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.” Genesis 12:4; Hebrews 11:10; Genesis 13:14-17. When Abraham thought he had missed all, God spoke to him again, I am giving this place as a permanent possession, not temporal.

What a Mighty God we have and serve? He will do the same for you, He will give you the things that are permanent, not temporal; things that are truly yours, not borrowed or bought with credit; things that will not be taken from you by any forces under the heavens; He will give you things that will make you glad and praise His Holy name and He will defend all the things that He will give to you. Describing our daily experiences, Paul wrote, “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39

God is with you. He will give you a clear direction. When the children of Israel thought they were lost in the wilderness after almost thirty-nine years around one particular mountain, God spoke and said to them. “Then we turned around and headed back across the wilderness toward the Red Sea, just as the Lord had instructed me, and we wandered around in the region of Mount Seir for a long time. Then at last the Lord said to me, you have been wandering around in this hill country long enough, turn to the north.” Deuteronomy 2:1-3. For prayers, Click here
