LORD, WHY IS THE DEVIL AFTER ME?

Post date: Sep 28, 2015 11:33:06 PM

The devil with all his craftiness and wickedness is not after you because you have sinned or gone out of the will of God for your life; he is not after you because you refused to follow God’s laid down instructions on certain things or fail to obey his words or keep his commands in the things you do with your life, in your family, and in your business. He is not after you because you are married or not married, because you have children or do not have children; he is not after you because you are rich or poor; he is not after you because of your location or language or race or name; he is not after you because you failed to pray; he is not after your marriage because of the past or current misunderstanding with your spouse and children; he is not after your children because they are stubborn or rebellious to you or others; he is not after you because you often question God; he is not after you because you failed in your religious commitments or have not attended church for some time; he is not after your business because it is on a wrong or right location; he is not after your profession because God did not call you into doing what you are doing now.

The devil is after you because of what Jesus Christ did to him on the cross on your behalf. He is after you because of what Jesus Christ had done in your life which are irreversible. The devil is after you because God loves you so much and had saved your life from destruction; he is after you because God's Spirit is in you to direct your steps, hearts and your dealings. Irrespective of what the devil is doing against you, through grace and mercy, God will deliver you and you will live to testify of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. The devil is after you because you switched side from being his instrument and following him to being God’s instrument and following God. He is after you because you have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. He is after you because he knows you can change the world for good; break his chains over the lives of your spouses, children and family and also erase generational curses. He is after you because he knows leaving you alone will be detrimental to his strategies against humanity.

Through cruelty, he may have succeed to keep you single all these years but He will not stop you from getting married when God’s time comes and His light shines bright on you to expel every form of darkness and evil veils that had covered you and repel potential suitors from seeing, liking and pledging their love and preference for you in marriage for so long a time. He may have succeeded to prevent you from rising up high but He will not succeed to keep you from rising with Jesus Christ when His hands are out to raise you up. He may succeed to cause shame, pains and cries, but he will never succeed to stand against the blood of Jesus Christ that washes all shames, pains, sins and cries away. He may have succeeded in keeping you unemployed after years of education and seeking a better job, but he will never be able to stop God from opening the door for your eleventh hour blessings and job placement offer.

Despite the fact that the devil had been after you, God will keep you safe and will bless you. “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: For your sake we face death all day long, we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31-39.
