“Then behold, a hand touched me and set me unsteadily on my hands and knees. So he said to me, O Daniel, you highly regarded and greatly beloved man, understand the words that I am about to say to you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you. And while he was saying this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing in opposition to me for twenty-one days. Then, behold, Michael, one of the chiefs of the celestial princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision is in regard to the days yet to come.” Daniel 10:10-14

It is very certain that God is interested in you irrespective of your location and what you do and what you are going through in life; it is certain also that God will help you irrespective of the situation and He will establish you in His presence by His grace. Daniel was a Jew with a strong desire and determination to honor and worship God irrespective of where he was and he did that even when he was in the prison under captivity and under watchful guards. The life of Daniel and all he did and went through is interesting, his story is encouraging, and the results he got in is worth hoping and trusting God for in our own lives and in our days. Daniel was unknown and never mentioned in the Scripture before until the day he decided while in captivity to keep himself from participating in sacrificial food and drinks in order to honor and to worship the Almighty God. It was that single decision that brought Daniel out from obscurity into the light that we all admire today and desire in our own lives.

Daniel was a captive placed under guard in the prison, but God in His mercy and power took him out from that prison and freed him from that captivity, thereafter gave him a respectable position in the government even when he was a foreigner. His colleagues in government desired to destroy his life and conspired and plotted his destruction, but God in his love did not allow them to succeed as intended, God saw Daniel through. Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den to be eaten alive by hungry lions, but God was there to protect him and to prevent him from being eaten by the lions, God thereafter took him out physically alive and unhurt. Against the wishes and advice from his adversaries, he was not to be honored by the king, but God turns their counsel over and Daniel was highly honored and promoted in the land and in the government.

Daniel’s prayers were answered by God immediately, but the prince of Persia was sent by Satan to prevent him from receiving the answers to his prayers for twenty-one days, but God sent His angel to resist that prince of Persia on Daniel's behalf and enabled Daniel to have the answer to his prayer and his request. Through grace and power from God, Daniel survived all forms of humiliations in the prison, he survived adversities of men, he survived conspiracies, hates, and lies from his colleagues in government, but that same Daniel lived and successfully served four subsequent Kings in a higher capacity. Right from the day that Daniel made up his mind to honor and worship God, God did not leave him to whatever comes or to the wishers and thoughts of people, God was with him declaring His goodness in his life. And Daniel declared: “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries, but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32. God had promised to be with you, He will not fail. Daniel became a big success in life despite all that happened to him. “And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.” Exodus 6:7.
