KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE FIELD

“Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, whose damsel is this?  And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:  And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.  Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:  Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? And when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn” Ruth 2:5-9

God is not waiting until situations become nasty and rough before He reaches out to His people. God will not also wait until we become desperate before sending relieve. God can touch and turn every situation for His own purpose using means that are suitable to Him; He can transform hopelessness, transform any person, and reach out to His people either in a near or remote location anywhere round the world.

Ruth, a widow not by choice but by unforeseen circumstances, could have married any man of her choice, now faced with making provisions for herself and her mother in-law in a strange land. She found herself in the mist of young men; she had two choices, scout for one to marry as a widow in this unplanned opportunity or concentrate on service in the field for things that bring food to her table, volunteering without pay with the young men in Boaz’s harvest field by helping to make their work easier.

Thank God for godliness, open mindedness, good counseling, willingness on her part to know and remain discipline and to follow things that promote good ethical relationship than things that satisfies an unfortunate situation.

God will not ignore His people forever; He will acknowledge anyone who acknowledges Him and is focus on service that will enhance His kingdom, His purpose and His will in their personal lives and that of others.

Boaz told Ruth “Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after themRuth 2:9. Christ Jesus told us “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2

The word was; be focus on the mission in the field and you will have your forgotten dreams restored; you will have the things stolen by the devil restored; you will be recompensed by God in a way better than your imaginations and reasoning. Did you know that the field is open for us today to go in and harvest? Don't be distracted by the situations in your life.

There is a God who sees and acknowledges our strength and our weakness. There is a God who sets things right at His own time. There is a God whose eyes are never, and will never be as the eyes of men, whose thoughts for His own will never be as the thoughts of men. Has men promised to reward you? God has a better promise and a better reward. There is a God, who cannot miss His target, that God is our Father, the maker of heaven and earth, who showed Himself to us in Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes on the field and on Christ Jesus and the reward will be beyond your imagination, just like Ruth. Most of men’s promises are laden with sin and compromise of the will and purpose of God for you.

When God acknowledges you, he will reposition you; when He repositions you; He will use you, when He uses you He will bless you.  Are you persisting and holding forth, keeping your eyes on the field? People may not acknowledge you but not our God. God will not ignore you; heaven will not withhold your blessings forever. There is every possibility you will have a good harvest in the harvest time.

In the harvest time, the God of Ruth will be your God.
