“Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road as was his custom. When Bartimaeus heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout and say, Jesus, Son of David, Messiah, have mercy on me. Many sternly rebuked him, telling him to keep still and be quiet; but he kept on shouting out all the more, Son of David, Messiah, have mercy on me. Jesus stopped and said, call him. So they called the blind man, telling him, take courage, get up, He is calling for you. Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said, what do you want Me to do for you? The blind man said to Him, Rabboni, my Master, let me regain my sight. Jesus said to him, go; your faith and confident trust in My power has made you well. Immediately he regained his sight and began following Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52

Physical or spiritual blindness is never desirable at any time by anyone because everybody wants success and everyone wants that success clearly, but in most cases, success is hindered or greatly limited by one form of blindness or the other. While God does not want you to be blind or keep you in any form of blindness, we have to strongly desire God to open our eyes and ask Him to help keep our eyes open as we strive in our professions, in our home, in our jobs, neighborhoods, with friends and foes, with colleagues, at school, marriage and in every relationship. Blindness can great affect you in ways you will never imagine. One good thing that God had enabled us to know is that blindness can be refused when given the opportunity; it can be fought when given the strength, and it can be rejected when given the option. But there are situations that one may be blind without knowing and without accepting when told and that is the worst state of that person. God will not refuse our desire when they are His plans for our lives; God will not refuse you the blessing when it is His desires for you; He will not turn you back when you approach Him with open eyes and knowledge, and He will not put you to shame because you are His own expressed image and likeness in every aspect of living and He will not refuse.

If men had ever refused to show you the right way that you have been yearning for in any issue, Christ Jesus will never refuse to help and it very possible for you; if men had refused to help you because they know you are partially blind, Christ Jesus will never refuse to help you; if men had abused you for showing some form of blindness, put you to shame for that, look down on you because of that, condemn you for the weakness, and cast you aside because they had seen some blindness and ignorance in you, Christ Jesus will rescue you from them and from that situation. Blindness causes men to demean you, to disrespect you, to forget you, to make you a beggar, dependent on them for everything and unknown. It delays your breakthroughs, dreams, desires, vision, and progression in life. It limits your value in life and the height you want to attain in life and it makes people abuse and use you.

It is certain that your next level in life depends completely on what you see now; on what you know now; on what you do now, and on who is helping you in life. The fulfillment of any your dreams, and vision, any desire also depends on what you know and have seen. When your eyes are open, you know what is good and what is wrong and be able to make an informed decision that will change your life for the best. Blindness gives our enemies the advantage over us and enables them to seek controlling our destinies and the outcome of our cases; it also enables us to live in deceit and be shot changed. Being a disciple was not enough until God open the eyes of those two disciples; talking about Jesus Christ was not enough until God open their eyes to know Him even though they had seen Him with their physical eyes. Treasuring all that God is, loving all whom He loves, praying for all His purposes, meditating on all His word, being sustained by all His grace. God wants your eyes open. Click here for prayer
