Things were tough, the situation was painful, Daniel was in the prison, a place contrary to his dreams, desires, and prayers; a place with restrictions, far from home, walled in, and deprived of all known privileges as before. His mind went dark but the Spirit of God in him was still active and communicating with him. David’s thoughts were hovering over two issues, either to obey man by following the laid down prison instructions or to follow the Spirit of God in obedience and start a fast for himself. Daniel knew the true God of Israel and chose the later and reaped a good result of his obedience because it was impossible for God to forget His words, promises, and children. Before Daniel became a prisoner, he was a promising young Israelite from a royal family; was physically strong and healthy, good-looking, well versed mentally in every branch of learning, gifted with excellent knowledge, intelligent, had the ability for good judgment, and suitable to serve in the royal palace. He was not a no-body in the society or in the neighborhood, but a young man with a trusted future in God with a divine purpose; yet God allowed him to among the captives of the army of Nebuchadnezzar and taken to Babylon to be trained as a loyal slave/servant to an ungodly king. But it was impossible for God to forget Daniel there.

Many of us feel forgotten and abandoned by God because of our daily experiences; because of the delays to our prayers; because of the lack of expected successes in our labors; because of the things we see every day which are contrary to our prayers, dreams, and expectations; but despite our feelings, despite where we are in life, where we have been abandoned; despite what we see daily, despite what we know and think about the system, about ourselves and our situations, it is impossible for God to forget us when we truly hold unto Him in hope, faith, and in all desires. I want to assure you that God will not forget you, He did not forget Daniel even as a captive.

Irrespective of what they have done to you, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of where they have taken you to in life, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of what they have taken from you, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of what they have said of you in your face or at your back, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of what you have lost in the process of doing good and living right with God, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of what names they have given to you, it is impossible for God to forget you; irrespective of your shame and chains, irrespective of the fear and humiliations, it is impossible for God to forget you;  irrespective of the isolation and the rejection, and irrespective of the dismissal and delays in your blessings, it is impossible for God to forget you.

The Almighty God who did not forget Daniel, He will not forget you; the Almighty God who did rescue Daniel in that prison, He will rescue you; the Almighty God who did grant Daniel favor even as a prisoner, He will grant you favor; the Almighty God who remembered Daniel, He will remember you; the Almighty God who promoted Daniel in the presence of his enemies, He will promote you; the Almighty God to preserved and defended and guided Daniel, He will preserve you, He will defend you and He will guide you; the Almighty God to raise Daniel up, gave him a position and established him, He will do the same to you for it is impossible for God to forget you.

“At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the king. So after that, the attendant fed them only vegetables instead of the food and wine provided for the others. God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams.” Daniel 1:15-17. It is impossible for God to forget those who through a decision and true determination depend and truly rely on Him even when they are experiencing tough times and difficult situations.
