PLANNING FOR TIMES AND SEASONS IN OUR LIVES

Post date: May 6, 2016 12:47:47 AM

Despite the best of our planning, we should never forget that it was God who kept Noah through the floods; kept Abraham and Isaac through times and seasons of draughts and famine; kept and took Joseph through the trials of His live until he become known in Egypt; kept Moses safe from birth and through the wilderness; kept Sarah until she conceived Isaac; kept Hannah from self- destruction because of abuse; kept Job until he was restored; enabled Elizabeth to conceive John the Baptist; kept the Daniel through the den of lions; kept the three Hebrew brothers alive inside the burning furnace; kept David from the javelin of Saul; kept Peter standing by the bank of the river until Christ came to the river. All these had one thing in common despite all the times and seasons they experienced individually in their lives. It was whom they believed in, whom they relied on, whom they listen to constantly, whom the followed diligently, and whom they obeyed absolutely. What you believe and hold tight to will keep you through every times and seasons in life and will enable you to make a positive difference despite the times and the seasons and their effects. These people had no preparation ahead, but whom they believed made a difference in their lives and their expectations and they all had a resounding testimony we desire today.

We are told in the book of Ecclesiastes 3 that there will be times and seasons in our lives and that these times and season do not just occur but are appointed by God for purposes we might never know. It is good to know that the same God who appointed those times and seasons to come, also knows how best to keep, to protect and to defend every one of His children through those times and seasons. We should know that while we plan, God also plans for us and His plans are the very best that will see us through those times and seasons. He does not want anyone of us to be unaware of His ability to keep us and take us through those times and seasons; to be ignorant of the power of grace and dependence on Him. In preparing for all these times and seasons, we should not forget that God is the one who will bring the times and the seasons, and He is the one who can and will keep us safe and defended through those times and seasons.

It is a clear fact that despite our foreknowledge, foresight's, ability, desires and wealth concerning our lives and that of our family, we will not and cannot be adequately prepared enough to face all the challenges of the times and seasons that will come, but the God we serve who also will bring the time and seasons is far more than enough and well prepared toward every times and seasons that we will ever face. What we do when those times and seasons comes matters but what we do now matters most. We are told there will be a time to be born, and a time to die while there is nothing we can do when we die, there is much to do while we are alive. There will be a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted, we have to water and nurture what we planted such that will affect what we pluck up at the end; there will be a time to kill and a time to heal, there are habits we should kill if we desire to be healed; there will be a time to break down and a time to build up, we are to break down walls in our lives so we can build up relationships; there will be a time to weep, and a time to laugh “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy”  Psalms 126:5; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. In preparing, we do what we know with what we have, but God’s plans are not according to what we have or know but it is according to His love, unending provisions and the love we have for Him and His words. Our God sees and knows the times and seasons far better and He is well able and willing to take us through all of them successfully. Despite the best of our plans, only the God we believe will keep us safe and successful through every event in the times and seasons. Click here for prayers
