WHEN YOUR CROSS SEEMS TOO HEAVY

Post date: Mar 24, 2016 2:20:38 AM

Jesus Christ felt the pains and the weight of the cross on His person but He endured it to the very end and the Father greatly rewarded Him. When your cross seems too heavy, never depart from the presence of the Lord who will give you the reward for carrying it; never allow its pains and weights to change the vows you made before Him; never allow that to disrupt your relationship with the Lord and His people; when the weight of the cross seem too heavy, trust God for what is required to take you safely to the end rather than dropping it halfway; when your cross seems too heavy, remember the word of the Lord to you before you started carrying the cross; remember His promises that never fails; remember his grace that is sufficient; remember His presence will be with you; and remember your reward is nearer than before and His promises that will soon be manifested in you because of the cross. Many believers have lost their rewards because they dropped the cross halfway; you will not lose your reward in the name of Jesus Christ.

When you carry the right cross which God had desired for you, He will provide the grace needed throughout the period; He will give you the spiritual and physical strength necessary till the end; He will give you the courage needed to bare the pains for the glory that will be revealed in you thereafter; He will give you the patience to walk in humility and in tolerance; He will give you the determination to persevere because of what you will gain thereafter; and He will give you the right mind and the right prayers because He knows the end will definitely benefit you more than all the pains and shame associated in carrying that cross. He will give you help in trouble and He will give you direction and sustain your cause.

When the cross is too heavy what should you do? When the weight is taking the very best of you what should you do? When the end is not in sight what should you do? When mockery, shame and insults are unbearable, what should you do? When the cross seems bigger than anticipated in all aspect what should you do? When you realized you were deceived to carrying the cross what should you do? Though the cross that Jesus Christ was heavy, He did not give up carrying it, did not revolt against the people or His Father or the world; did not complain to anyone but to His Father in heaven, and did not curse anyone for punishing Him. Though it was shameful, Christ was patient; thought it was disgraceful, He was humbled. One thing that He did not let go was His heart that was knitted with the Father in prayer and meditation and obedience. “After He was found in terms of His outward appearance as a man for a divinely-appointed time, He humbled Himself still further by becoming obedient to the Father to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself, God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in submission, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:8-11

Refusing to compromise the word of God might cause you to carry a cross; refusing to associate with sin and the devil might cause you to carry a cross; refusing to give up your moral standing might cause you to carry a cross; standing to resist evil might cause you to carry a cross; but such crosses will definitely glorify God and exalt you at the end; God will never forsake you even when all men mock, laugh and speak ill of you in many ways, the reward of God will definitely come in an amazing way. God will always reward righteousness irrespective of the cross you may have been forced to carry in doing so. Refusing evil is not as easy as many will think, but when you do that in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in all humility expecting Him to take the glory, the weight of that cross will not crush you and will not destroy you even when that was the thought of the people who had forced you to carry the cross at first.
