YOUR PLACE IS FOR YOU, NOT FOR OTHERS (3)

“Listen to me, you who know right from wrong, you who cherish my law in your hearts. Do not be afraid of people’s scorn, nor fear their insults. For the moth will devour them as it devours clothing. The worm will eat at them as it eats wool. But my righteousness will last forever. My salvation will continue from generation to generation. Wake up, wake up, O Lord, clothe yourself with strength, Flex your mighty right arm; Rouse yourself as in the days of old when you slew Egypt, the dragon of the Nile. Are you not the same today, the one who dried up the sea, making a path of escape through the depths so that your people could cross over? Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.” Isaiah 51:7-11

David had joy when he received the anointing, had faith that it will work for him and when he finally got to the palace, David had greater joy because of the change of location, profession, and position. Soon, things changed for David when he realized Saul wants him dead even when he enjoyed his presence, but the God who recommended him for that job and position was there to keep him safe, defend, and deliver him. Without showing any desire to be king, or telling Saul or anyone else in the palace of his anointing and the words of promise from God, Saul started to plot ways to kill or stop him, or eliminate him, but in all the evil ways thought possible by Saul, God kept David, God defended David, God delivered David, God preserved David, and at the end, God installed David as king. Your day is coming, your God is alive, and all of His words and all of His promises to you will be fulfilled.

After the eventual departure from Egypt, the Red Sea desired to stop Israel from moving forward to the place God had promised to give them outside Egypt; Pharaoh desired, pursued, and fought to bring them back to captivity in Egypt; the wilderness frustrated their smooth movement every day; seven strong nations with their kings and armed fighter stood up to destroy them on the way; serpents came into the camp to bite and kill them; river Jordan came up to hinder them; the wall of Jericho stood to prevent their expected take over and victory; Balak hired Balaam to put up a spiritual curse against them; everything stood on their way tried their best and presented their forces all to stop the children of Israel from reaching the place God had destined, but all failed because God had destined their movement, their victor, and their arrival at the place He destined and He defended them until they got there.

The God who had destined a place for you will not give up on you; He did not give up on Israel and did not give up on David. He will guide you, He will take you by His hands to the place and by His grace and power, you will get there. No misfortune will befall you – that is God’s decree, that is His command and they are enforced by His angels, not human beings. “God is not man that He should lie or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it? Behold, I received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot revoke it. He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob, nor has He seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them and the shout of a king is among them. God brings them out of Egypt and is for them like the horns of the wild ox. For there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel; now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, What has God wrought. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” Numbers 23:19-23; Psalm 91:7-10.
