There are things that are very important to you that you have forgotten completely about because you have run out of patience and expectation because of undue delays in waiting, frustrations in expectations by men, frequent failures at every attempt to get them and disappointments at the time of you think you are right and ready for them only to be disappointed again. You have observed that all previous efforts had yielded no expected result, no sign of joy, no sign of any positive progress and you have resolved to continue your life the way you see it without those things you had desired, prayed for, hope for, trust God for, and believed God for, but today, the Lord is saying to you and me, though you have forgotten them, He had not forgotten any; though you have resolved to live without them, He had not resolved to deny you forever, though you have lost all hope of ever getting them, seeing them and owning them, He had not resolved that you won’t have them in this life despite what you previous experience, despite your age, and despite your current state or your present location.

God is saying despite the truth that you have lost hope for ever being successful or doing any tangible thing again in life; you have lost hope in the business you have invested your money and time to build over the years; you have lost hope in your family ever being free or having any joyful and sustaining relieve; you have lost hope in your education and in your qualification, lost hope in the desire to have a meaningful relationship; lost hope in getting married and remaining married, lost hope in being loved, and lost hope in the prospect of getting any good and secure job; despite the fact that things are not getting right with you right now in your relationship and marriage; despite the fact your finances are in mess and the chances of getting out of debt is not in sight and the effect is causing you ill health and low self-esteem, but despite all you know, see and experience, God can give you a turnaround that will change you, change and correct your past, change your expectations and change your dreams for good. He can restore your hope, your ability, your lost dreams, your lost visions, your lost glory, your lost strength, your lost desires for success, your pursuit of excellence, being productive and active again. There is nothing He can’t restore, there is no good thing that He can’t do for you or restore in you. Decisions to deny you can be changed; plans to set you up for evil can be changed; schemes to sideline you can be stopped. Things that had been denied can be reversed and those things you think you can’t get or won’t get can be made possible. Your hopes can be restored and that is what God wants to do with you, in you, and for you as He did for Zacharias and Elizabeth.

“In the days of Herod king of Judea, there was a certain priest whose name was Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was a descendant of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. They both were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in the commandments and requirements of the Lord. But they were childless, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were far advanced in years. Now it happened while Zacharias was serving as priest before God in the appointed order of his priestly division, as was the custom of the priesthood, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense on the altar. And all the congregation was praying outside at the hour of the incense offering. And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. When Zacharias saw the angel, he was troubled and overcome with fear. But the angel said to him, do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your petition was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will name him John. You will have great joy and delight, and many will rejoice over his birth, for he will be great and distinguished in the sight of the Lord; and will never drink wine or liquor, and he will be filled with and empowered to act by the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb. He will turn many of the sons of Israel back from sin to love and serve the Lord their God.” Luke 1:5-16 For prayers, Click here
