Fears and uncertainty everywhere but God is still in active control of all things including the fears and the things that keep us worried, distressed, and hopeless. On the other side of fear is freedom from God, on the other side of distress is rest from God, on the other side of worries is peace with God, and on the other side of hopelessness is your victory with God in His abundance of mercy and love for those who look unto Him and follow Him with all of the heart. Do not allow distress take your heart away from God, do not give up trusting God for that which is possible and also impossible, and do not give up fellowship with Him and obedience to His word. It is very certain that God will help you make a difference even in difficult and uncertain times.

Abraham was clearly told, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son.” Abraham was not happy with those words he heard, he was distressed, he knew the consequence, but had no ability to stop himself but to act accordingly. It was distressing because he knew throwing her and her young son away was to expose them a life of uncertainty instantly; a life with an uncertain future, hope, and destiny. But in that same distressing thought in his heart, Abraham heard a word of comfort from God. This is what God told Abraham, “Do not be so distressed, I will make the son of the slave into a nation also because he is your offspring.” God is still speaking in our situations, in our fears, in our uncertain moments, and uncertain times. He is still our God even when we are thrown out, rejected, humiliated by insults and shame, He is still our God in our most uncertain moments when the future looks dark without hope, without help, without comfort, without peace, without success after years of labor and prayers and fasting, and without any comfort to show for our salvation and obedience. God knows how to comfort us, He knows how and when to help us, and He knows how to lead us in and out in every situation without hurt or harm to lives despite the pains we suffer. I pray He will lead you out of the uncertainties in your life, in your future, in your finances, in your marriage, in your home, in your job, and in your family. He alone knows the way He will lead you and He will certainly do.

After Jairus had followed Jesus for a while requesting and trusting that Jesus Christ will come to his house and heal his only child who was twelve years old and was sick in bed. “Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. He pleaded earnestly with him, My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live. So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and pressed around him.” Mark 5:22-24. Jairus was happy that Christ Jesus accepted his request and actually heading towards his house; he was happy and hopeful that his daughter will be healed, his fears will be taken away, the impending sorrow will be over but something else happened that distressed him; he was told by someone he trusted from his house that his daughter is dead and there is no need to stand on your request to have Jesus Christ come to your house, there is no hope that she will be back to live since dead was the final fear they expected. “While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. Your daughter is dead, they said. Why bother the teacher anymore? Mark 5:35. What a piece of news at a point of success, what a news at a point of seeing and receiving a miracle, what a piece of news at the point of hope and trust being fulfilled. God will not allow disappointments to overwhelm our faith and courage.

The person who brought the news never knew that Christ heard what he said to Jairus, and Christ Jesus seeing the immediate discomfort and distress in the face of Jairus immediately turned to him and said “Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:35-36. On hearing what Christ Jesus said to him, his reaction changed immediately and the result was a miracle the people who had come to sympathize never expected to see. The presence of Jesus Christ at His home changed the narrative. Yours will change. For prayers, Click here
