I NEED YOUR VOICE OH LORD

Post date: Oct 20, 2014 4:00:14 AM

Whose voice did you hear this morning? Whose voices are you prepared to follow as you contemplate making a decision. This was the submission of King David concerning the voices of men around him: “Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life. God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you; unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.” Psalm 62:10-12

Did you know that there are voices everywhere every day speaking to get your attention one way or the other? There are voices beckoning on you to follow their ideas; there are voices seeking to rip off your peace and frighten your life and destroy your day. There are voices seeking to negatively influence you to condemn yourself and to continue in that self-condemnation; there are voices telling you never to think you will make it out of your present situation; and there are voices telling you that you will never recover from your past and present mistakes.

There are voices seeking to take captive of every good thing in you; there are voices telling you that God had forgotten and abandon you forever; there are voices pointing you to the failures and mistakes of your parents and reminding you that you will also experience that same failure; there are voices telling you that suicide is better than the life you currently have, that taking your life is godly and acceptable; there are voices speaking the same way the serpent spoke to convince Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden encouraging them to disobey God.

There are voices telling you never to forgive the mistakes and sins of your spouse, of your children, of your family members, and never to forgive the hurts of your friend and colleagues in the office: there are voices telling you never to forget your ugly past behaviors, never to forget that you are guilty of an offence you had truly confessed before God and man, and had asked God to completely forgive you; voices telling you never to forget that guilty feelings, and such voices are plaguing your life and thoughts negatively.

There are voices telling you never to forget that you blew up a great financial opportunity; never to forget that you turned down a marriage proposal from a person you never wanted as a spouse; there are voices telling you that you made a great mistake to forsake your former sinful life-style to follow Christ Jesus. There are voices telling you that you are not born again, your heart is not yet regenerated, that God had not forgiven your sins, and that your sins cannot just be taken away by the blood of Jesus Christ. There are voices telling you to go back, to precede no further, to retire from aspiring, from desiring better days and better days.

There are voices telling you that this frustration will continue indefinitely, that your finances will never improve, that your children will never get married, that you will never recover from this illness, that your parents or children or friends will never remember you and will never bless you from this day on. There are voices that seek to destroy your morals and your confidence in your God, but despite all the voices, this is the voice of Christ Jesus concerning that situation today:

“All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.” John 10:8-14.  For prayers, Click here
