“IT IS NOT EASY TO BE STILL DEAR LORD”

Post date: Dec 4, 2017 5:48:47 AM

God had not ceased being God despite what is going on the world today and in our lives; He had not ceased doing signs, wonders and miracles despite our waiting on Him for too long and despite the delays, the frustrations and the disappointments we have every day and everywhere. He had not stopped caring for His own and He had not ceased loving you. The devil may try to convince you, convict you, accuse you, humiliate you, intimidate you, frighten you, harass you and even destroy you, but God is still God and will still do what He had destined and determined to you in your life. Nothing can, nothing should, and nothing will ever make God cease being God and in this world and in our lives and in heaven. Not even the devil can, not fears, not hopelessness, not faithlessness and not our inabilities

It is not easy to be still and remain still for too long when the flesh is speaking our lacks to us very clearly and with a loud voice at every instant; telling us our weakness, our failures, and our fears with evidence; reminding us of our ages, of our inability to meet our needs, of our prayers not being answered and when some are answered, they come too late, but despite all, God said, be still and know that He is God. It is not easy to be still these days when we cannot meet up with basic demands consistently; it is not easy to be still when we are growing older every day and the demands of yesterday is still pending and the demands of today is here; it is not easy to be still these days when the battle against our destiny is becoming tough; it is not easy to be still these days when our enemies are smiling while we mourn; it not easy to be still these days when our children are not what we pray for them to be; it is not easy these days to be still when we are still single, lonely, childless and poor; it is not easy these days to remain still, when our spouses are our forthcoming and when our expectations are never meet; it is not easy these days to remain still when we are always overtaken in every competition by our competitors and foes; it is easy to remain still again when our patience is too long and our expectations are always delayed. It I not easy to remain a faithful and committed to the ethics of Christianity, but God had called us in all circumstances, in all locations, and in all situations to remain still and faithful to and in Him

“God is our refuge and strength, mighty and impenetrable, a very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its roaring. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when the morning dawns. The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He raised His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold, our refuge, our high tower. Come behold the works of the Lord, who has brought desolations and wonders on the earth. He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. Be still and know, recognize, understand that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold, our refuge, our high tower.” Psalm 46:1-11

God knows it is not easy on us but He is still asking us to be still because He will prove Himself to be God in our lives and situations; He will prove His words to be living, active and effective; He will show us that His love is far more than the love of men; He will soon show that His power can do what no one can do, His power will set us free, His power will go before us, His power will break yokes and open doors, His power will bring down the forces of darkness, and He will show us that His mercies and faithfulness will never depart from us even when we walk in and through the shadows and valleys of death and despair.
