MY DREAMS AND THE WORD OF GOD. (3)

Many are waiting for dreams before believing, keeping, and following the instructions of God; some are waiting for signs while some are waiting for clarity, but we should know that when God speaks concerning any issue, He will not change His mind and He will not change His word whether we have a sign a dream or any clarity. Christ Jesus told the people: “Learn a lesson, parable, analogy from the fig tree, when its branches become green and soft, tender, sprout, and new leaves appear, you know summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things happening, you will know that the time is near, ready to come, right at the door. I tell you the truth, all these things will happen while the people of this time are still living before this generation passes away, or a future generation of the end times. Earth and sky will be destroyed, heaven and earth will pass away, but the words I have said will never be destroyed, pass away.” Matthew 24:32-35. The words Jesus Christ had spoken, the commands and instructions He had given will never be destroyed and will never pass away without being fulfilled.

I want you to know that in all things, in all situations, whether hardship, troubling times, fears, and other things, always trust the word of God more than your dreams, knowledge, experience, wisdom, and instincts. Dreams and instincts do fail, knowledge and wisdom will fail, experience and fear will change, but the word of God will never fail and will never change. Learn to allow God’s word speak to you and not your situation; let God’s word minister to you and not the thoughts of your heart, or the comfort of anyone else; let God’s words guide your thoughts and steps and actions and not the thoughts of others, or the steps of others, or their actions in times past. Do not be afraid when men condemn you, but be afraid when you are condemned by the word of God because the condemnation of the word of God will lead to your repentance, release, reflection on God’s word and will at the end bring you a favor when you follow the steps therein.

Gideon was a man called by God for a purpose; God spoke to him in several ways before and he obeyed and followed the words spoken by God, but on this particular issue, it took a dream from the enemy God asked him to fight against for Gideon to obey and follow up. “It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say, and afterward, your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp. Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Now the Midianites and Amalekites, all the people of the East, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts, and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude. And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed. Then his companion answered and said, this is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel. Into his hand, God has delivered Midian and the whole camp. And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.” Judges 7:9-15

Gideon heard the word of God calling him to action but was afraid to respond and follow up, and God had to give a dream and interpretation to convince him that He will do what He had said to do for him before. It takes faith to overcome fear;, it takes faith to trust the word of God; it takes faith to obey God, and it takes faith to receive blessings from God. Abraham was a man of faith and obedience and a man that God truly blessed and given a position in history that had not been equaled by men despite the advancements in knowledge in the world.
