Elijah the prophet of God, Elijah the man who prayed, Elijah the man who saw and witness great results in and through prayers, Elijah the man who saw the fire from heaven two times, Elijah the man who confronted the king and four hundred prophets of Baal and had sweet testimony to leave behind, and Elijah the man who trusted God for impossible results, Holy confrontation, and great sign, wonders, and unprecedented miracles, was first a man who voluntarily gave himself to know the Almighty God, was a man who gave himself to private intense prayers and a man who humbled himself before God before ever confronting men on any issue. Elijah was a man who knew what he wanted and asked for God for it; he was a man who trusted God and show his trust openly even in impossible situations; he was a man who asked God for what was impossible, for what men had never seen or heard or experienced before; he was a man who did not ask God for anything according to the understanding and wisdom and experience and knowledge of men. No wonder he did much, showed us much and had such an impact in his days.

Elijah was a man who subjected himself to the will of God and to follow all of His instruction to him even when they hurt him and feelings and when he had no idea of what the result of such actions will be. God is looking for men like Elijah today, not men who will prefer their comfort than follow God even when such hurts them; not men who reasons with God according to their own understanding rather than the God’s understanding and words; not men who will look at what will profit them first in such actions before accepting the commands from the Lord. Not men who are self-centered, self-focused, and seeking self-glorification with the pretense of glorifying God and promoting His words. Can God trust you? Those of us who want to be like Elijah by having the same result he had can you see the heart of Elijah? Is it comparable to yours? In his days, Elijah did all that he did through sincere and intense personal prayers, he confronted issues in his own life and the public through prayers and submission to God, but in our days we want to do exactly what Elijah did through wealth, pride, lack of sincere and quality personal time with God in prayers and meditation in His word. Remember, Elijah was a man like all of us today but he did what others before him and those in his time could not do. And the Scripture is giving his example today to tell us that we can also do in our days what Elijah did in his days.

“Is anyone among you suffering? He must pray. Is anyone joyful? He is to sing praises to God. Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders, spiritual leaders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, your false steps, your offenses, and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man, believers can accomplish much when put into action and made effective by God, it is dynamic and can have tremendous power. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings, and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its crops as usual.” James 5:13-18

Did you know God is still doing unusual things today and even want to do much more in you, and through you, and use you through Christ Jesus? He wants to empower you beyond your dreams, knowledge, ability, wisdom, education and to take you far beyond and above the help that the very best of men cannot afford to render to you? Elijah had the same life experience like us, the same limitations, the same hardship, the same frustration, and discouragement in life like all of us, yet in all these things, Elijah was a success in the hands of God. You will be a success despite what the devil is doing. Ask and God will do it. Prayer Request Click here
