DEAR LORD, SPEAK FOR ME

Post date: Aug 27, 2012 7:15:58 AM

It is not impossible for God to set any one of us free from any bondage, and it is not impossible for God to speak on our behalf in every situation. His voice is respected and revered by all creatures. “Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season for her delivery comes around, I will return to you and Sarah shall have borne a son. Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” Genesis 18:14, Jeremiah 32:26-27. God had shown man His willingness and ability in several ways before and will do it again in our time.

Certainly, there are several things we cannot do, but there is nothing God cannot do. He had set the captives free before, save souls from destruction and pains, delivered the oppressed, given a voice to the voiceless, given children to the barren, healed all manner of sickness, given job to the jobless, restored lost glories and properties, enable people to pay off debts, raised the dead, and forgive sins. He has restored marriages and families; restored hopes, given joy to people, and there is nothing stopping Him from doing them again.

It is not your situation that is the problem; it is what you do in your problem that matters. God is determined to save you, set you free and bless you if you will learn to forget the past and look into the future. Look at the life of Jonah. He disobeyed God and boarded a ship to escape from Him, but God was determined to save him, though He allowed him suffer for a while.

Now the ship got into turbulent waters and Jonah was identified to be the reason and he had to be sent out. Everyone in the ship saw the furious and raging sea and they feared for their lives. Yet Jonah was thrown into that same furious and raging sea to die so they will be live. The assumption of the people was that Jonah will never survive it, that he will be a dead man in a matter of seconds. But God thought otherwise for him and provided a fish to swallow him.

No one might have given you the benefit of doubt that you will still be alive today with what you have gone through in life, and yet you are still living just like Jonah the fish belly. It was God that preserved His life, and that same God is also preserving yours. “Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” Jonah 1:17. Though the fish belly was not a comfortable place for Jonah, it was better than the raging waters and a place to preserve him till he could pray for restoration.

There was nothing Jonah could against the fish but to call on God for redemption through prayers, and when he prayed God answered, forgave him and did something spectacular thereafter, spoke to the fish to let Jonah out, and the fish had no alternative but to do obey. “Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly, And said, I cried out of my distress to the Lord, and He heard me; out of the belly of Sheol cried I, and You heard my voice. For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods surrounded me; all Your waves and Your billows passed over me. Then I said, I have been cast out of Your presence and Your sight; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.  And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.” Jonah 2:1-4; 10

Did you know that there are certain things we will not be able to overcome except God step in to speak for us? I am very thankful to everyone who responded and participated in our “tear down this wall” prayer season. The response was great and the result will be great. Apostle Paul said “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” Jonah prayed and God answered, we have prayed, and God will send the expected increase. Congratulations, we are entering into a new season of unfailing expectations. The God who commanded the fish to free Jonah is doing the same for you right now.
