WHERE ARE YOU LEADING ME TO DEAR LORD? (2)

There are many things contending with us daily, there are many causing confusion, uncertainty, and fear in our hearts and on our ways; there are many things we have not been able to do despite our struggles, our knowledge, our wisdom and the experiences we have in life; there are things we are unable to understand and unable to resolve despite our prayers, faithfulness and seeking help from people we know are able to help, yet in all these things and situations, our trust is still on God and our eyes are fixed on Him just as our hearts are prepared to follow Him. The question we have now is where are we, where are we going, and where is God leading us to? These are the questions we have and are concerned with every day. Though grace is available from God to take us to where is good and benefiting; but the road is getting tough and messy by the temptations we face, the activities of men with evil intention, and the wickedness of Satan against us.

“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is overwhelmed and weak; lead me to the rock that is higher than I, a rock that is too high to reach without Your help. For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, a strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name with reverence. You will prolong the king’s life, adding days upon days; His years will be like many generations. He will sit enthroned forever before the face of God; appoint lovingkindness and truth to watch over and preserve him. So I will sing praise to Your name forever, paying my vows day by day.” Psalms 61:1-8

David was a man God anointed and called to lead Israel when He rejected Saul as king, God was the one who lea David to face Goliath and He enabled him to defeat Goliath with a sling and a stone, God was the one who lead David in the forest against the lions and the bears and the wild animals that came up against him and against the sheeps he was caring for, God was the one who gave David the grace to sing and play instruments to the admiration of people and enabled the people to recommend him to Saul, God was the one who leads David to Saul’s palace where He prepared him physically for His plans. God is the one who leads David when Saul desired to him and God was the one who defended David in the caves and other places as he ran from the swords and armies of Saul. God was the one who leads and kept David all the days that Saul was in power, and God was the one who enabled David to be King in Israel confirming His plans for his life and for the people of Israel.

The story and testimony of David can never end until we talk about his success as a man and as a king and as someone anointed by God. Despite Davids loneliness in the forest, God saw him and approved him before Samuel; despite David’s personal sorrows, God comforted him throughout the time he spent in loneliness; despite David’s family history, God choose him as His own and as the next king in Israel; despite David’s rejected by his parents, God’s accepted him and forced his parents to recognize him as their son; despite David’s several weaknesses, God in His love and power showed David endless mercy and despite the many years he spent hiding from Saul, God was with him and never forgot His anointed and His plans and purpose for David.

Though David knew he was anointed to be king after Saul, he never knew the road will be rough and tough, he never knew he will face Goliath and treats from Saul, David never knew he spent years living and hiding in caves, and he never knew how God will confirm him as kind. One thing David stop doing was praying and making request to God even with tears. In one of David’s prayer request, he asked God; “lead me to the rock that is higher than I, a rock that is too high to reach without Your help.” God will lead you to such a place, a place that is far beyond the best any man can offer.
