YOU MUST HAVE VICTORY OVER FEAR

Overcoming fear is not optional; overcoming its effects is not optional for you as a Christian; on the Cross Christ Jesus defeated Satan on your behalf so that you could be free and enjoy freedom in His presence and in the things you do; He defeated Satan so that you would be able to be what He had promised. That defeat on the Cross was not temporal and your defeat of fear will not be temporal. Fear will not hold you back again and the effects of fear will not live in you again. God has given you His Spirit to lead you and to abide with you and guide you in everything that you do. Paul told Timothy, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control” 2 Timothy 2:7. In overcoming fear and its works, Apostle Paul reminded Timothy; “That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, that inner fire the special endowment which is in you through the laying on of my hands with those of the elders at your ordination” 2 Timothy 2:7.

Irrespective of what fear and its effects had done to you, you are much more than what you are right now and you can be much better hereafter. There are tools you need to have so you can overcome fear and go beyond where it had placed you in life. Paul told Timothy to remember he has something in him that will and can take him out of where he was, out of whom he was, and out of what he was doing to where God had destined and desired and planned for him. Paul reminded Timothy that God had given him a gift that can transform him and transform what he was doing and that he must use that gift. The tool that he needed in order to use that gift was faith in the word of God and prayers to the Almighty God. Not until the faith in you is activated and used, fear will keep you back and rob you of God’s plans and desires for your life. “I thank God, whom I worship and serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, and as I recall your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. I remember your sincere and unqualified faith the surrendering of your entire self to God in Christ with confident trust in His power, wisdom and goodness, a faith which first lived in the heart of your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am confident that it is in you as well” 2 Timothy 1:3-5. Faith is one effective tool against fear after salvation, but faith without surrendering your spirit, soul, body, and thoughts to follow God and voluntarily changing your actions according to God’s words will not bring the expected result. Faith comes by hearing the word of God and it produces the expected result by accepting, believing and following the instructions in the words of God you hear.

Jabez did not overcome his situation because his parents helped him but because he had the faith to pray the kind of prayers his parents could not pray and God heard him and helped him and changed his life for the very best. “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, saying, Oh that You would indeed bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand would be with me, and You would keep me from evil so that it does not hurt me. And God granted his request.” 2 Chronicles 4:9-10. Jabez realized what he had and what needed before presenting the same before God in his prayers; his prayers were specific and direct, he said enlarge my border, he realized he had a border that needed to be enlarged and he trusted God to help him do that. Timothy had faith and a gift from God, and Paul asked him to fan the gift to flame through his faith. What do you have? What are you convinced God had given you as a gift? What do you want in life and what do you want to be hereafter. The result of Jabez and Timothy should challenge us to pray with faith and ask God directly for specific things. No matter what you are afraid of, here is what you need to know, God has not rejected you whether you accept Him is your decisions or not. He wants to meet your needs, obey Him and leave the rest to Him. For prayers Click here
