NOT UNTIL I AM BLESSED, I WILL NOT LET GO

Many Christians are still struggling in many areas of their lives and the struggles are increasing every day causing stress, disaffection, sadness and hatred. These are things that are directly from the pit of hell totally caused and totally managed by the devil to harm our lives and relationship with one another and with Christ our Lord. Did you know that many Christians are unnecessarily sad and unhappy in their relationships, in their homes, their marriages, in their families and also among their professional groups? They are not feeling this way because God or they want to be so but because the devil wants them to be so. The devil wants them to feel the pains and regrets in their relationships, their marriages, their finances, their labor, with their children and family members so that they will be angry with their God, seek unrighteous and offensive ways to live their lives even as Christians and solve their physical problems.

When things are not going well in your life and in your family, when all of your dreams in life are excessively prolonged, when visions are not forthcoming as shown to you by the Lord, when godly desires are turning to fantasies and nightmares, remember that the Almighty God had not forgotten His words to you, has not forgotten His covenant with you through grace in Christ Jesus and will never forget all of His promises to you irrespective of all the things that the devil had done against you, will do against you or who he will ever decide to use against you. None of your problems had made God to turn His back on you and none will make Him reject you and none will force Him to abandon you indefinitely in the hands of the devil. Things may be tough but God is still very active in your life; things may be rough but God is still following His plans for your life and things may be very difficult but God’s purpose for your life is still intact and will be accomplished. You may feel lonely and wallowing in shame and lack, God is still in control in your life and in your case, He is still active in seeing you through and He is still in love with you for you. Things may be tough and rough with you, yet God had not said no to your request and desires and struggles in life.

Jacob was a man with a dream, with a vision, with a desire, with an ambition to do that which is good and excellent for his life and a stronger determination to be successful in life. When he left his father’s house due to the threat on his life by his brother Esau, he had a tough time, a rough moment, had several worrying thoughts compared to his life desires and faced uncertainty in his journey and in his future but he was not discouraged in pursuing that dream and desire to the very end. While on that same mission and running to save his life from being destroyed by his only brother, Jacob had a rare encounter that changed his life forever; that affected his vision and gave him the strength he needed to continue. That encounter ended in Jacob insisting that he will not let go unless he received the blessing and live to see them with joy.

“So Jacob was left alone, and a Man came and wrestled with him until daybreak. When the Man saw that He had not prevailed against Jacob, He touched his hip joint; and Jacob’s hip was dislocated as he wrestled with Him. Then He said, Let Me go, for day is breaking. But Jacob said, I will not let you go unless you declare a blessing on me. So He asked him, what is your name? And he said, Jacob. And He said, your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed. Then Jacob asked Him, Please tell me your name. But He said why is it that you ask my name? And He declared a blessing [of the covenant promises on Jacob there. So Jacob named the place Peniel, the face of God, saying, for I have seen God face to face, yet my life has not been snatched away. Now the sun rose on him as he passed Penuel, and he was limping because of his hip. Therefore, to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon of the hip which is on the socket of the thigh, because He touched the socket of Jacob’s thigh by the tendon of the hip.” Genesis 32:24-32.
