Did you know that through the anointing of David by Samuel on that faithful day to be the next king in Israel, David was predestined for something bigger and better than himself being a King, something that will outlive him, something that will bring joy to the whole world and something that Israel and all believers will be proud of. By that anointing, David was predestined for an everlasting covenant with the Almighty God, a covenant that even unborn generations will see, know and rejoice, a covenant that finally brought Jesus Christ our Lord into the world in human flesh to save the world, deliver, protect, and bless all who will believe and come to Him. Did you know that through Salvation by grace and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; through the forgiveness of our sins, past and present; through the daily confession we make concerning Jesus Christ; through faithfulness and obedience in Him alone, we have been predestined to be better in this life and for something good to come, we have been predestined for eternal life with Christ and with the Almighty God in heaven. I want you to know that you are predestined by God, not man, or wealth, or any system of government for something better than what you are right now.

David was not from a royal family but he grew up to become the one who started one with and in his own family. His parents had no dynasty to look up neither did they create on or leave one for David to inherit, but David grew up to start one and leave it behind for his descendants and others to inherit; David was a humbled shepherd of sheep in the forest, but he grew up to become one of the best-humbled shepherds of the Lord’s chosen and beloved people – Israel; David was an unrecognized musician in the forest, but he grew up to compose and sing songs that attracted the heart, the blessings, and the attention of the Almighty God. God said of David – I have found a man after my heart.

“Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said; “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people. I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil, I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. My faithful love will be with him, and through my name, his horn will be exalted. I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers. He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’ And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.” Psalm 89:19-29. That was the promise by God and that was what David was destined for in life through the anointing. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30.

Those God had predestined will not be abandoned irrespective of the afflictions and the rising up of powers to take them down. Those He had called will not be abandoned despite their fears and all the strips from the enemies. Those He had prepared will do exploits, will stand up and display His righteousness and power; those he predestined He will equip, He will chastise, He will open up new doors for them to pass when old and previous doors had been closed; He will give the new opportunities to rise up again and stand firm. He will guide them through their darkest moments in life. He will defend them against the powers of the enemies; He will fight on their behalf and give them the utmost victory despite the number and strength of their adversaries. David was focused and God made him great. For prayers, Click here
