GOOD TESTIMONY OF KING HEZEKIAH AFTER

“But Hezekiah the king and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz prayed about this and cried out to heaven for help. And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed every brave warrior, commander, and officer in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the king returned to his own land in shame. And when he entered the house temple of his god, some of his own children killed him there with the sword. Thus, the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and He gave them rest on every side. And many brought gifts to the Lord at Jerusalem and valuable presents to Hezekiah king of Judah; so from then on he was exalted in the sight of all nations. In those days, Hezekiah became terminally ill and he prayed to the Lord, and He answered him and gave him a miraculous sign. But Hezekiah did nothing for the Lord in return for the benefit bestowed on him, because his heart had become proud; therefore, God’s wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. However, Hezekiah humbled his proud heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.” 2 Chronicles 32:20-26

Hezekiah had a terminal illness and a terminal date hanging over his life; received a messenger from Sennacherib king of Assyria with the threat of an invasion of his kingdom and people; he heard and also knew the successful exploits of this Assyrian king in his previous invasions of other kingdoms and cities; and was given no other option than to surrender. He was afraid and had fears and uncertainty on what he could do knowing this king was stronger in all aspects of battle, his men were more prepared, knowledgeable and stronger than his men in comparison; and besides Hezekiah had no confidence in himself and his people. Hezekiah was amazed why the Assyrian king picked on him and his kingdom; he saw their fierce weapons and knew what they can do; he saw the strength of their captains and remembered what they had done; he saw their level of preparation and wondered what will become of his people and kingdom; he heard their previous successes and concluded he and his people were finished. But despite what he saw and what he knew of the Assyrian king, his captains, and his weapons; despite what he heard about their previous successes and exploits, Hezekiah had a man called Isaiah who trusted God and whom he can cry with concerning the threat to his life, to his people and to his kingdom.

What are your fears in life and what are the threats causing the fears? Why are they magnified so much beyond what they truly are in real life? Who is behind the threats causing the fears? Which god do they know and serve and which God do you know and serve? Where is the location of their gods and where is the location of your God? Who owns the power and who gives power to men? These are questions we need to ask, know and apply daily in our lives if we must advance beyond where we are in life presently. The things we hear and see are powerful enough to drive our lives either in the right or in the wrong direction. What have you heard recently from the camp of your enemies, from your present location, in your job, in your current profession and in your family that is disturbing not only your spirit but your soul and your flesh? The words of men will definitely fail but the words of God will never fail. What have you seen that is affecting your thoughts about your future and the ability of your God? The strength and weapons that men uses against you will fail, but your God will not. Who can plan a thing and execute them without the knowledge and express permission of the Almighty God you serve? Their weapons may be big but your weapons are mightier through the God you serve; their captains may be strong and prepared, but they are men and not angels and your God owns all men and their strength and His angels are on 24/7 alert on your behalf to render divine services to you. As the Assyrians failed in their threat, so will the Assyrians against you fail; as their captains and weapons failed, so will their captains and weapons against you fail. God will give you a testimony.  Click here for prayer
