MISTAKE THAT CAUSES SETBACKS (V)

You do not need to make two mistakes to suffer setbacks in the hands of the devil, just one of any size and at any moment is enough to take you off the zenith of your best efforts, desires and the dreams that you have attained already in your professional life; one mistake is enough to ruin your entire life for a long time; stop your dreams or turn it around backward; hinder your works and efforts in improving and advancing your profession; just one mistake is enough to ruin your marriage or keep you from being married; one mistake is enough to send you to the jail you do not want to go; one mistake is enough to keep you from reaching the marks sets for your life by God; one mistake is enough to stop you from reaching the marks of your parents and ancestors, and one mistake is enough to keep you in darkness the rest of your life. That is what Satan wants, but that is not the plan of God for you, that is not His desires for you, and that is not the destiny He had planned when He gave you His gift of salvation through Christ Jesus.

Satan does not respect any person's position, title, nationality, education, or accomplishment; all he wants is to get you where he wants and to do what he desires with you. Note, all of his desires are contrary to God’s plans, God’s will and God’s purpose for your life. None of his desires are the same or similar or close to the least that God has for you. His plans are that you will be weak and unable to stand boldly before God; his plans are that you will forever life to remember and also regret your past and present mistakes and that of your parents and family member; his desire is that you will always live to have the feelings of self-defeat, self-rejected and self-discouraged. You will always know what you want and will never be able to have them the way you want, and you will ever live within the evils of the mistakes in your life and family. Just one mistake is all he wants and we have to be very careful when we are pressed by our desires and pressured by our colleagues, family, parents, children and friends.

The temptation of asking Jesus Christ to turn stones to bread by Satan after His forty days fast was not to satisfy His hunger, it was for something bigger and Jesus Christ knew that. The temptation of asking Him to jump down from the highest mountain in Jerusalem was not to test the capabilities of the angels or the truthfulness of God but to satisfy the plans of Satan and Jesus knew that. The temptation of showing Christ Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and all their glory and beauty and promising to give them to Him was not for tourism purpose or leisure, it was for something that Satan had intended and Jesus knew that. All that Satan wanted was for Christ Jesus to make just one mistake and he would have used that mistake thereafter to stop Him from fulfilling the entire mission He came into the world to fulfill. Besides, all that Satan asked and showed to Christ were possible and they were things that His Father had already given to Him. Do not be blinded in the offers from Satan, do not follow his alternatives, and do not be cowed by his tricks and unfruitful knowledge and wisdom. That same Christ Jesus who defeated him then is with you to help you defeat him again in whatever temptation he is forcing on you. Satan did it in three ways, all he wanted was just one mistake that he will use to accomplish his plans of stopping His mission of redemption on earth

“During that time the devil came and said to him, if you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread. But Jesus told him, no, the Scriptures say, people do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, if you are the Son of God, jump off for the Scriptures say, He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. Jesus responded, the Scriptures also say, you must not test the Lord your God. Next, the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. I will give it all to you, he said, if you will kneel down and worship me. Get out of here, Satan, Jesus told him. For the Scriptures say, you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.” Matthew 4:3-10. For Prayers Click here
