WHY RICH AND POOR?

Ironically men will never question God when situations are good, but will do so immediately things begin going contrary to the way they want and think. I want every one to remember that God can change all situations, correct all wrongs, and give the best comfort to all. Everyone is sustained by God in His own ways. He has the power take all forms of lack and poverty away from the entire world despite what men are thinking and doing. There is nothing existing, or that will ever come to exist that is out of His absolute control. He meets all the needs of the birds and the cattle’s in the forest and He is doing the same also for all men. He created and sustained all things in the power of His word. In Him, and in His words all men we are continuously blessed, sustained and kept alive. He alone has the power to do all things because He created all things, and He has an endless resources for every thing He created including the man He made.

Prosperity is sweet and desirable by all, but not all will be able to attain to the kind of prosperity they desire. God approves our being prosperous, but requires we be contented with what we have while working and trusting Him for increase. In God's economy, there are enough provisions reserved for the rich and the poor within the society. In God's economy, poverty is having enough to eat and drink, but not enough to spare. It is quite possible for God to make everyone rich, but He had not done so and we ask why? Men should know that God is infinite in all things, ways, thoughts and actions from the beginning of creation unto eternity. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:8-11

When God allows certain things to exist on earth or in the life of someone, He wants to use such for the purpose of blessing someone else, opening the eyes of someone else to acknowledge Him, or draw someone else attention to His power. His designs are quite different from ours and His thoughts and ways are far better than the very best of our ways and thoughts. No one will deliberately chose poverty in place of prosperity, and I will never advice anyone to do that, but this is what the scripture says: “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.” Deuteronomy 15:11 These are the reasons He gave for allowing such:

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.” Psalm 41:1-3

The lacks suffered by men around us are designed to stimulates the kind of givings that triggers God's blessings on men. Considering the poor in our dealings opens the door for God to bless us even without we asking for such blessings in prayers. Such actions can guarantee deliverance in times of our inevitable troubles, preserve us, defend, heal, strengthen and keep us alive. Dorcas was brought back to life not because the people prayed, but because they acted on remembrance of her good deeds. The poor exist in our society so God will use situations like that to bless those who take care of them even when they fail to pray. It is an acceptable service to God.

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22. For prayers and encouragement during difficult times, someone is here to pray with you. Click here
