PETER, SATAN HAS ASKED TO SIFT YOU BUT I

Post date: Jul 13, 2015 3:25:45 AM

Those were the candid words of Jesus Christ to Peter on that faithful day and occasion. Thank God that Peter was present that day and had the opportunity to clearly hear those words. I am thankful that Christ Jesus did not leave him confused, did not leave him guessing what to do; did not leave him in sorrows of thoughts and did not refer him to anyone else to seek protection or direction on what to do thereafter. Immediately Christ gave him that revelation. Christ also did something very spectacular thereafter to protect Peter against what was about to happen to him through the activities of the devil, He said, but I have prayed for you. Christ did not pray for him after telling him of the plots of the devil; did not give him seven days fasting; did not ask him to pray against it; He actually prayed for him long before that day.

Did you know that Christ Jesus had personally prayed for you concerning every of His words of promises about your future? Did you know that Christ had prayed for you concerning every plot of the devil against you? He had already prayed for your success in life; He had already prayed for your victory in life; He had prayed that you will overcome that temptation and that situation; He had prayed that you will be fully restored in every area of life; He had prayed that you will be established on the place He had promised you and in the things that will magnify you before Him and before men; He had prayed that you will not be drawn by the deceiptful acts of the devil; He had prayed that you will be what He had said of you; He had prayed for your children, for your business and for your profession. Christ had prayed for your health and for your wellness; He had prayed for you today and had secure your future in His hands for your goods. Christ is for you and will ever remain for you for good.

Christ did not pray that the devil should not tempt Peter or prayed to prevent the temptation from happening; He prayed that Peter be restored thereafter. Remember, there was nothing He asked Peter to do concerning the plots but He asked him to do something after he had been restored. How many times have we received a prophesy without a direction? How many times have we received a word of knowledge from people without a direction and without clarity? How many times have we received a revelation and become confused and weary? Peter never suffers any form of confusion and never doubted the words Christ gave to him, he never asked God what he should do but trusted in the prayers of Christ Jesus for him. Prophesy and words of knowledge are meant to give us peace, direction, correction and boldness; they are never meant to create shame and confusion or fear in us for any reason. Christ is with you as He was with Peter and will give you the victory He gave to Peter.

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers. Peter said, Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you. But Jesus said, Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. Then Jesus asked them, When I sent you out to preach the Good News and you did not have money, a traveler’s bag, or an extra pair of sandals, did you need anything? No, they replied. But now, he said, take your money and a traveler’s bag. And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. For the time has come for this prophecy about me to be fulfilled: He was counted among the rebels. Yes, everything written about me by the prophets will come true. Look, Lord, they replied, we have two swords among us. That’s enough, he said.” Luke 22:31-38. For prayers, Click here For 3 hours of Praise and worship songs Click Here
