SMALL, BUT STILL RELEVANT AND VALUED

Post date: Dec 4, 2012 5:33:46 AM

You might think yourself to be too small and insignificant in almost all things in life, too small to be recognized and to receive the blessing or promotion in your organization and family. You might be thinking your efforts are too small to be noticed and nothing to be compared with. You might be thinking your car, your house, your income, your apartment, your family; your grades, your height, your weight, and your dreams are all too small to make any difference in your life. You might have been thinking you are not handsome enough, beautiful enough, and educated enough to be meaningfully engaged in a good job or marriage. You may be thinking you do not earn enough to achieve your dreams and that of your family expectation. But all this thoughts and imaginations are false and a lie from the pit of hell. Wait, despite all, you are not a failure.

This kind of thoughts will surely make you sick, uncomfortable, and worried. It will affect your productivity, aspirations and dreams. It will affect your drive for success and excellence, will affect your motivation in life and will make you think and act suicidal most of the time.

Your God is more than your thoughts, visions, dreams, understanding and strength and is more than the thoughts of men for, and against you in any realm of human reasoning. When you think things are all over for you, you are giving the devil the chance to manipulate your thoughts and situation. Despite what you see, know and experienced, God is still capable of turning things around for your good. Because you are yet to see results in your life does not make you a failure.

God promised Abraham a place he will call his own. He fulfilled it through Moses and instructed Moses on arrival, to divide the land which is called Israel into twelve parts according to the number of the sons of Jacob. Each of the twelve parts was subsequently divided into tribes according to their population. Unfortunately Bethlehem, a city in Judah had a small population and therefore a small portion of land was allotted her.

Because of their small population and small landmass, the people lost all hope of ever being relevant among their peers in Judah. The lost all hope of ever producing a leader or having a voice in the affairs of the region. But despite the small size, despite their inadequacy, despite their feelings and disappointment because of size and population, God had a very lofty plan for them. This was the word of God for them: “But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from ancient days (eternity). Therefore shall He give them up until the time that she who travails has brought forth; then what is left of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall dwell [secure], for then shall He be great [even] to the ends of the earth.” Micah 5:2-4

This same city, with her small landmass, and with her small population did at the end produce the first and only Lion of the tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ our Lord, our savior and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. “Then one of the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said to me, stop weeping. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root (Source) of David, has won (has overcome and conquered) He can open the scroll and break its seven seals” Revelation 5:5

I do not know your feelings about yourself and your condition, your feelings about those small things you have; great things will come out from you as you continue in Christ Jesus. God is not waiting until you are great before using you. That little strength, that small mustard seed like faith in you, that small vision, dreams and knowledge, that small earning, the single coins in your hands can change things for you as you keep trusting and following Christ Jesus.

You might be small in everything, but you are still relevant and very valued by the Almighty God. Second Declaring my life 2013 prayers December 13-15 send in your request Click here
