“The order, decree the king had commanded was to be done, carried out on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar. That was the day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to defeat, overpower them, but that was changed, the opposite happened. So the Jews themselves defeated, overpowered those who hated them, their enemies. The Jews assembled in their cities in all the provinces of King Xerxes in order to attack, lay hands on those who wanted to harm and destroy them. No one was strong enough to fight against them, because all the other people living in the empire were afraid of them. All the important men of the states, the governors, captains of the soldiers, high officials, and the king’s officers helped the Jews because they were afraid of Mordecai. Mordecai was very important, great in the king’s palace. He was famous in all the provinces because he was becoming a leader of more and more people more powerful and influential. And, with their swords, the Jews defeated all their enemies, kill and destroy them. And they did what they wanted with those people who hated them.” Esther 9:1-5

All these happened because God remembered one man. When God remembered Mordecai and rescued and restore him, He had the Jews in mind. God also remembered the hangman, the plotter, the gallows that was built for Mordecai, and instantly all of their plans were turned around and used against the planner and his family. What an amazing act of God’s remembrance. And God remembered someone who thought it was all over for him, someone who had no physical means of defending himself, and someone who had no political power to stand and defend himself in any way, and someone who was physically sick and weak. God remembered someone forgotten and disregarded by men because of his physical, financial and social situation, because of his religion and determination not to worship a man in any way or form but to worship the only true God. God will remember you as He remembered Mordecai. He will bring a turnaround, joy and a celebration. His remembrance of Mordecai brought joy not only to him but to the entire Jews in the province, it brought celebration to them and also brought elevation, honor, and authority to Mordecai before his people. From that day on, things changed for their good and there was no reversal even for Mordecai.

“Mordecai wrote down, recorded everything that had happened. Then he sent letters, dispatches to all the Jews in all the empire of King Xerxes far and near. He told and called on them to celebrate every year on the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar, because that was when the Jews got rid of their enemies, a descendant of Saul had overcome an Amalekite and descendant of King Agag, thus completing God’s mandate that Saul failed to accomplish. They were also to celebrate it as the month their sadness and sorrow was turned to joy and gladness and their crying for the dead and mourning was turned into a celebration. He told them to celebrate those days as days of joyful feasting and as a time for giving presents of food to each other and presents of gifts to the poor, Purim thus became an annual festival still celebrated by the Jewish people today.” Esther 8:20-22

That was the ripple effect of God remembering Mordecai, of God making Esther the queen, of God giving her favor before the king, of God making her the spokesman for Mordecai and of God preserving their lives against all the odds of their lives. God is keeping you for something better and strong and glorious, He will not forget you and you will not miss it. Stand firm in your faith and continue in your prayers and faithfulness. God knew what was to come in the land and He prepared His ways ahead of them and executed His plans in a way that the enemies could not understand and could not stop. I am convinced your day of remembrance will come, your day of God plans being executed will come and your day or blessings will come.
